Washington DC / Baltimore, Maryland, prepares to showcase the most important event for the Tamils with various activities of glamour, grandeur and colour, with Tamil language and tradition running a typical thread in all of the activities and events!
Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America (FeTNA), an umbrella organization for almost 40 organizations presents a grand event per annum. Touted as some of the biggest Tamil conventions ever hosted by Tamils of North America, 2012 would be the grandiose Silver Jubilee Celebration for FeTNA with about 2000 members from around the world expected to grace the occasion! The grand convention might be hosted at Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, located within the heart of downtown. The development is going on on July 6-8, 2012 at Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, Baltimore, Maryland. Some of the highlights of the convention are: 100th anniversary of Dr MU.VA, Top 10 Tamil Entrepreneur Forum, Tamil literary quiz, Ainkaran orchestra, Tamil competitions, debates, interview with Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, special program by singer Mukesh and humour shows by actor Siva Karthikeyan and Madurai Muthu. Singer-Padmashri awardee, fondly known as 'Chinna Kuyil' K S Chitra, along side playback singer Mukesh are teaming up with Ainkaran orchestra to offer a charming performance within the musical night. Kollywood leading youth actor "Chinna Thalapathy" Bharath, who has delivered many mega hit movies like Boys, Kadhal will take part in the development. Also participating is Amala Paul who has become the most recent sensation in Tamil - Telugu cinema. The Convention will include special lectures by Ilakkuvanar, writer S Ramakrishnan and Kavignar Thamizhachi Thangapandian, Kalaimamani TKS Kalaivanan who has spread Tamil in foreign soil through hundreds of concerts.
