In 1986, Maestro Ilayaraja came out along with his first ever non-film music album - 'How to call it?' The instrumental album paid respects to Johann Sebastian Bach and Thyagaraja. Now, 25 years later, celebrating the silver jubilee of the album, a concert was organized on the Anna Centenary Library Auditorium by Sabari Raja of Absolute management. Raaga.com was the official online media partner of the event.

Raaga.com & IndiaGlitz conducted a web based contest for the development and gave away free tickets for the entire winners who were all visibly excited for purchasing a possibility to peer one of these historical event that brought together musical legends.

Anil Srinivasan, the classical pianist was the host for the show. The concert began with Bhavatharani rendering 'Janani Janani...' from the film 'Sri Raghavendhra', which was devoted to her late mother Jeeva Ilayaraja. It sparked off what was going to be a scintillating concert that included the superior acoustic live music heard in Chennai within the previous couple of decades.

The concert was conducted by Prabakhar, Ilayaraja's close associate, who has collaborated with him for 25 years and was performed by the maestro's own 40-man orchestra that included an entire string section featuring 20 violinists. Playing the tunes of the entire tracks from the album, the crew set the factors for future instrumental concerts on the auditorium. Before each song, Anil Srinivasan took his time to provide an explanation for unique aspects of the track intimately and enlightened the gang with details about counterpoints, trios, fugues, paritas and polyphony to call a few.

Ambi Subramaniam, the nineteen year old violinist and the son of the legendary L. Subramaniam played the lead and got standing a ovation for the title track. Just whilst you start to wonder how a 19-year old boy can create such a lot magic, the audience was surprised by another youngster, Aadithya Ganesh, a fifteen year old who joined Ambi and likewise played a couple of solos. Rajesh Vaidhya, Veena Vidwan and Kalaimamani recipient also graced the stage and played together with the remainder of the members.

Vikrams secret role in Thaandavam

The 'Thaandavam' team is holding with it some important, yet interesting secrets. One in every of them is that Vikram may be seen as a police officer and another is a visually challenged man as reported earlier.

"Vikram recently met a visually impaired man within the United States, who can do a little stunts on par with people with vision. The highlight is that he can ride a motorcycle. The Chiyaan learnt some techniques from him," sources reveal.

Directed by A L Vijay of 'Madrasapattinam' and 'Deivathirumagal' fame, 'Thaandavam' is being produced by UTV Movies. Anushka Shetty and Amy Jackson are the leading ladies, while music is by G V Prakash Kumar.

Recently, the director made a press release that Lakshmi Rai was roped in for a very important role. The actress is predicted to sign up for the sets soon. Among other important aspects of 'Thaandavam', Tollywood actor Jagapathi Babu plays the antagonist.

Suresh Krishna to do Aaha again

That Suresh Krishna directed three biggest hits of Superstar Rajinikanth- 'Baashha', 'Annamalai' and 'Veera'- is understood to everyone. The acclaimed filmmaker is now moving into small screen.

He is wielding the megaphone for a mega serial titled 'Aaha', on the way to be aired from Monday to Friday on Vijay TV, from May 7. "IT IS GOING TO BE a romantic story so as to ring a bell among today's audience," sources say.

Remember 'Aaha' is a movie directed within the late 1990s by Suresh Krishna. "HOWEVER THE title has only been inspired. The tale is a fresh new one," sources say, adding: "Fresh faces has been roped in to play lead roles."

Karthik Raja is composing music for 'Aaha', while lyrics are by Pa Vijay. "Though this is a serial, it's being made similar to a movie by Suresh Krishna. Some important scenes were shot on a heavy budget in distant locales," sources conclude.

Arya in Varuthapadadha Vaalibar Sangam?

The Tamil remake of 'Delhi Belly', through which Arya will play the lead role, was reportedly titled 'Varuthapadadha Vaalibar Sangam'. No prizes for guessing that the title have been inspired by a funny organization run by Kaipulla (Vadivelu) in 'Winner'.

To be produced by UTV Films which made the unique version, 'Varuthapadadha Vaalibar Sangam' may be directed by Kannan, who helmed movies akin to 'Jayam Kondan', 'Kanden Kadhalai' and 'Vandhan Vendraan'.

Besides Arya, the movie may have many popular faces in pivotal characters. With the 'Boss Engira Baskaran' hero playing the role played by Imran Khan within the Bollywood version, Santhanam will replace Kunaal Roy Kapur.

Premgi Amaran will reprise Vir Das, while Hansika Motwani and Anjali will do the characters of the airhostess and a journalist. The shooting is touted to kick start on May 7 in Chennai.

John Mahendran, who directed Vijay starrer 'Sachein', have been entrusted with the duty of penning dialogues for this film. Meanwhile, sources say though the title 'Varuthapadadha Vaalibar Sangam' has almost been confirmed, names reminiscent of 'Settai' and 'Vai Raja Vai' also are under consideration.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay has agreed to shake a leg with Akshay Kumar

"I am proud that he has made his presence felt within the film industry," added Stalin, who too was an actor. Stalin played the protagonist of a television serial called 'Kurinji Malar', which was aired on Doordarshan almost 20 years back.

Gautham: I didnt blame my actors for my films that didnt fair

Leelai

Finally films that were initially slated for a summer release are showing some progress. Remember Tamil films' shoot came to a halt due a tussle between TFPC - FEFSI? Karthi starrer 'Saguni' will now see its music release on May 11.

The political drama is helmed by newbie Shankar Dayal and lines Karthi and Pranitha in lead roles. GV Prakash has composed the music. The film has a variety of veterans in pivotal roles.

Apart from a delay in shoot because of the tussle and strike from workers the film also saw an enormous delay as many of the scenes were re-shot as a result of a transformation in villain.

This movie will bring back to important screen the super hit pair of Karthi and Santhanam who had the audience in splits in 'Siruthai'.

Ajith: Few get personal & comment that Im fat

Ajith's magnum opus 'Billa 2' is gearing up for a large release come June. The team is busy running from pillar to post for the audio release & post production work. However the Thala, as its quite to 1 and all believes that his film should do the talking and leaves it to his judges - audience, to simply accept the film or not and refrains from promos.

When a media house quizzed him of what criticism bothers him the most, that is what he needed to say:

"You can after all review whether a movie is sweet or bad, but few get personal and comment that i am fat. After 15 operations my metabolism has changed entirely. I consider that me walking with my two legs as a large deal. I'm very, very thankful for it. I'LL not be a fair dancer, but I'm trying. Even after such a lot of operations I'm jumping off a helicopter, I'm fighting.... But it's usually that few get personal and comment about my looks which dishearten me...."

Ajith who dropped out of faculty further urged his fans to be aware of education, "Never lose yourself respect for anyone. Give your 100 per cent towards your work. Please study well. Jayalalithaa goes down the memory lane

It was a nostalgic occasion for Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Wednesday, when she inaugurated the Cinema Centenary Complex Phase I building of South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC) in Chennai.

Through video conferencing from the Secretariat, Jayalalithaa also laid the root stone for Cinema Centenary Complex Phase II of the Chamber.

Speaking at the occasion, she recalled that former Chief Minister C N Annadurai inaugurated the Chamber building in 1968. Stating that former Chief Minister and AIADMK founder M G Ramachandran attended various events organized by the Chamber, Jayalalithaa took the memory lane, stating that she too had took part in functions conducted by the Chamber.

She urged the Chamber to work for the expansion of cinema within the years yet to come. "ONE OF THE MOST speakers here requested that I should are available in open to declare open the building, once the development work is over. I assure that I WILL BE ABLE TO personally come to inaugurate the building," she said.

UTV Motion Pictures' 'Kalakalappu' has bagged a clean U certificate! The comedy caper will grace screens come May 11. It can be mentioned, tunes composed by Vijay Ebenezer that released on April 20 have been fairly received as well.

Sasikumar fascinated about extending his ‘action hero’ im age has launched a brand new film Sundarapandian. He's going to again play an action hero within the film to be directed by his former associate Prabhu.

Shaam is operating on 3D entertainer 'Ace Raja Rani & Joker'. The newest is that the young talent has gone nude for a comedy sequence on this film! The scene was recently shot in Hyderabad where Shaam needed to run nude in to a lake.

'Ace Raja Rani & Joker' is a 3D Tamil - Telugu bilingual that's touted to be India's first ever full length 3D comedy flick. The film is directed by Anil Sunkara.

Recently, the movie was launched in a grand scale in Chennai. The development was graced by the Governor of TN, K Rosaiah, Simbu, Shaam, Srinu Vaitla, Allari Naresh, Venkat Prabhu, Srikanth, Mahat, AM Ratnam, Dhayanidhi, Vaibhav and a number of other others!

Suja Varunee joins Aadhi – Taapsees next

It's not news that 'Aravaan' boy Aadhi and 'Aadukalam' fame Taapsee Pannu are engaged on a Tamil - Telugu bilingual. The newest is that Suja Varunee plays a bangle vendor on this film and can be seen in flashback scenes with Aadhi.

"The character is certain to woo audience. It was a pleasure singing and dancing for a host by Maestro Ilayaraja", says an elated Suja. Although Charmee and Deeksha Seth were kept in mind for this character, the director zeroed in on Suja.

She has wrapped her portions within the film, a number of the scenes are said to be shot in and around Rajamundry, within the banks of river Godavari.

The film is titled 'Maranthein Maniththen' in Tamil and 'Gunadallo Godari' in Telugu. It has Sundeep and Lakshmi Manu in pivotal roles and is set these four people who find themselves stuck in floods. It's inspired from the 1986 floods and has a love story intertwined with it.

Leelai from April 27 – Sees big release!

'Leelai' that's been under the cans from almost two years now could be seeing a large release come Friday, April 27. The rationale being, the film is produced by Aascar Ravichandran's brother D Ramesh Babu.

'Billa 2's popularity has made Aascar only more powerful than ever in trade and theatres are giving 'Leelai' good screens and shows! 'Billa 2' is slated for a June release however the movie is red hot in trade and is doubtlessly the most important project this season.

'Leelai' is a romantic comedy directed by Andrew Louis with Shiv Pandit and Manasi Parekh within the lead roles. The film has Suhasini Raju in a pivotal role and has a powerful dosage of comedy by Santhanam. Music of 'Leelai' that rocketed the charts consists by Satish Chakravathy.

It's a mild hearted entertainer that's a few mistaken identity among two software professionals, Shiv and Manasi. The trailers and teasers have received good response.

Surya’s Singam 2 will start in June

Suriya is again going to play the daredevil cop Dorai Singam in Singam 2, Hari directed sequel to his popular Singam(2010).

It goes to be Suriya’s first sequel and the fourth time he's pairing up with director Hari.The shoot of Singam 2 will start in June once Suriya completes his KV Anand starrer Matraan.

There are two heroines in Singam 2, Anushka and Hansika along side Vivekh, Vijayakumar, Radha Ravi, Nassar who were a part of the original.In addition Rahman will play crucial role within the film at the side of a couple of others. It  could have music by Devi Sri Prasad and camera by Priyan. The film may be shot in Chennai, Hyderabad,Thuthukudi, Tirunelveli, Karaikudi and songs and fight scenes in Kenya and South Africa.

Singam 2 goes to be a bigger action packed police story with the correct amount of emotions. It will likely be produced by Laxman C for Prince Pictures.

Neetu Chandra bags Greek film

Neetu Chandra goes global. The 'Yaavarum Nalam' and 'Theeradha Vilayattu Pillai' girl has signed a Greek film, and she or he is keeping herself busy learning the fundamentals of Greek, to get her act right.

"I was approached for this film recently, once I was working with Jayam Ravi and Ameer for Aadhi Bhagavan. It's a fascinating project and hence I expressed my consent to be a part of it," she says.

Even now, the actress is shooting for 'Aadhi Bhagavan' in Goa. "The shooting might be wrapped up in a couple of days and that is the last schedule," informs Neetu, stating that the movie has shaped up very well.

"Ameer is a person of perfection and he knows the knack of extracting the most productive from his colleagues. Being a part of his project is a smart thing and that i must say Jayam Ravi is a pleasant co-star to work with," adds Neetu.

A rough cut of the track was leaked by few miscreants but little did they know that their ill deed will herald fortunes for team '3'. The makers cashed in at the approval for the rough song and officially released the track. The remainder as they are saying is history. The song won better of international accolades and has set an achievement in Tamil cinema.

'3' featuring Dhanush and Shruti Haasan opened to very large expectations way to 'Kolaveri' but received mixed responses. It's going to soon release in Hindi with few modifications.

Describing 'Vaaranam Aayiram' as one of the crucial important movies in her career and Gautham Vasudev Menon as one in all her favourite filmmakers, Sameera, who worked with the similar director in 'Nadunisi Naaygal', says, "I LIKE being a part of his projects."

Though she has worked in some multi-heroine flicks, including her recent Tamil film 'Vettai' (wherein Amala Paul is the opposite leading lady), Sameera says two actresses can't be best friends.

'Podaa Podi', that is the primary Tamil film to be shot in Hong Kong's Disneyland, is being helmed by new comer Vignesh Shiva who have been canning this project from 2008. The film has Simbu and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar within the lead roles. Vignesh had earlier announced that the duo can be seen in three stages of life on this dance musical.

The album has seven tracks composed by Dharan. A BRIEF teaser 'Love Panlama Venama...' is already popular a few of the young. The audio is anticipated shortly.

Sneha & Prasanna pledge to donate organs

Prasanna and Sneha, who're soon going to unite in marital life, united for a social cause on Saturday, once they pledged to donate organs. They made this promise at Benny Dayal's music concert at Music Academy in Chennai.

Amidst thunderous applause from the audience, the star couple announced they'd decided to donate organs. "IT'S heartening that lets light such a lot of lives with this initiative," they said.

Earlier, Benny Dayal enthralled the audience together with his impeccable performance. The funds generated from the show will visit the SAGA Charitable Trust, a social organization run by doctors and medical professionals.

The main aim of SAGA is to coach common people to avoid wasting lives. Besides striving hard to create 'Social Doctors', the trust creates awareness about donating organs. It has already trained 15,000 people including school children, college students, villagers, auto drivers and general public to supply first aid during emergency situations.

Billa 2 girls go glam for calendar!

Even because the Thala fans are going gaga over the teaser of 'Billa 2' and fans are eagerly awaiting the music, the makers have a distinct something for fans to appear forward too. They're going to unveil a calendar with the film's glam dolls, Parvathy Omanakuttan and Bruna Abdullah.

They were recently shot by a first-class photographer from Chennai in a hush-hush shoot in Goa.

STR and team 'Podaa Podi' are currently in Hong Kong shooting for a dance number for this dance musical.

According to sources, a few songs are being shot on Simbu and heroine Varalaxmi in Hong Kong and the schedule will go on for every week no less than. Incidentally, the actor fell sick, because of the sudden climate change.

Rajini shoots in Mohanlals studio!

It was earlier reported that the forged and crew of Superstar Rajinikanth's magnum opus, 'Kochadaiyaan', were shooting on the renowned Chitranjali studio. The newest is they are actually canning at Mollywood's firstclass star Mohanlal's studio Vismaya Max Studio!

The post production work is happening in an entire swing on this studio that has the entire amenities required to edit an animation flick.

The place is a media free zone with high level security, because it is for many of the Thalaivar movies. Scenes and songs featuring Rajini and Deepika Padukone were reportedly shot in a Kerala studio.

Sources further have it that Rajinikanth looks wow in and as 'Kochadaiyaan'. The performance motion capture film has an ensemble of stars within the lead including Rajini, Deepika Padukone, Sarathkumar, Aadhi, Jackie Shroff, Shobana, Rukimini and a number of other others. Music is by AR Rahman.

The shoot may be wrapped in a few days following which the post-production work will begin for this biggie! 'Kochadaiyaan' will release come September.

Tamannah to endorse Fanta!

Tamannah who's a well-liked and a favorite name among movie goers in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh will endorse one of the most leading soft drink labels, Fanta!

She will kick start the brand's campaign, 'Fanta Behind The Label' wherein her fans can meet her with the exception of winning several goodies! The commercials featuring her can be aired from April 24 consistent with sources.

Kalakalappu audio launch: An entertaining affair

UTV Motion Pictures' 'Kalakalappu' unveiled its audio yesterday (April 20). The film brings back Sundar C to direction and stars Vimal, Shiva, Anjali and Oviya within the lead with Santhanam in the most important role.

Music is by Vijay Ebenezer of 'Kanden' fame. In the course of the audio launch, the film's trailer and two tracks were screened. The trailer was loaded with fun elements and the actresses, as seen within the film's earlier first look pictures, have gone glam for the tracks.

The film marks Sundar C's 25th directorial venture and the makers are confident that it'll click well with the audience way to a commercial script aimed toward family audience this summer.

Prior to this, the film saw a soft audio launch in Suriyan FM where the forged had the listeners in splits.

Lakshmi Rai joins UTVs Thaandavam!

Joining the already glam team of UTV Motion Pictures' 'Thaandavam' is Lakshmi Rai. After Anushka Shetty and Amy Jackson, this 'Kanchana' & 'Mankatha' girl plays the third female lead and he or she will join the crew in London a while next week.

It is alleged that Lakshmi Rai has allotted a piece of 25 days for the film. The shooting in London could be on till mid - June. Music that may be by GV Prakash may be unveiled in July and the makers are planning to release the film by August or September.

The actress reached the following level in Kollywood as she was part of two blockbusters last year, 'Mankatha' and 'Kachana', in varied roles, with negative shades and as a glam doll.

Sunainas six brothers

Delhi Belly with Arya & Hansika!

It was widely buzzed that Hansika might be seen opposite Arya aka Jammy within the remake of 'Delhi Belly'. When IndiaGlitz contacted the production house, UTV Motion Pictures, regarding Hansika's presence they confirmed that she is on board. 

Rumour mills are working overtime that Hansika, who charged a whooping 40 lakhs for 'Oru Kal Oru Kannadi' was roped in for this remake for 75 lakhs!

It may be said that this remake with the intention to be helmed by Kannan may have Arya, Santhanam, Premgi Amaran, Hansika and Anjali within the lead roles with music by Thaman S.

However, unlike the Hindi original, the Tamil remake may be sans offensive dialogues and can have a powerful dosage of comedy that may be enjoyed by family audience.

An official announcement listing the solid and crew of the film is anticipated from the makers.

Friday Fiesta

Though there no biggies within the race, a medley of movies are seeing the sunshine of the day today (April 20), including some much-delayed ones.

A film about an aspiring politician, 'Mye' has newcomers in lead roles. Directed by Gopalan, the movie is produced by V V Suriyanarayana Raju on Padmalaya Cine Visions banner. It's being released by Sri Thenandal Films.

Nanban celebrates 100 days!

Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Pongal offering, 'Nanban' celebrates 100 days today (April 20). The film that's a devoted remake of Bollywood blockbuster '3 Idiots' was well accepted by audience and critics and has raked in good moolah to the makers.

The team will celebrate their success tomorrow (April 21), reportedly within the Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall in a grand scale.

It could also be mentioned, the film was given an entertainment tax waiver by the state government thus leading to a 30 per cent reduction in tax to boot. Thus the collections for the film was great as per trade sources.

'Nanban' features Vijay, Jiiva, Srikanth, Ileana and Sathyaraj in lead roles with Sathyan providing comic relief and SJ Suriya in a cameo appearance. It was the primary ever remake helmed by Shankar.

Vetrimaaran to direct Dhanush

Since Vetrimaaran's film with Simbu, 'Vada Chennai' is taking time to move on floors; the smart director that he's has decided to do a project with Dhanush before this film. The yet to be titled venture could be produced by Cloud Nine Movies' Dhayanidhi Agaliri.

This film will bring back the 'Aadukalam' team of Vetrimaaran, Dhanush, GV Prakash, Kishore and cameraman Velraj! The approaching back of this team has made the project red hot among those within the industry. Remember 'Aadukalam' swept six National Awards?

'Vada Chennai' will go on floors post this project. He says, "AS A RESULT OF various unavoidable reasons we're postponing the shoot of Vada Chennai, Simbu will play the protagonist and there are not any changes in that".

'Vazhakku Enn 18 / 9' that brings back Balaji Shakthivel of 'Kadhal' fame to Tamil cinema have been censored and is gearing up for a release. The film has received a U/A certificate and is slated for a May 4 release.

The trailer and the primary look of the film created much hype, way to the young content with an aura. This film is alleged to have a powerful message about love among adolescents and can throw light on love and so called love among students, with a criminal offense story intertwined.

Team Kochadaiyaan head to Chitranjali studio

It's not news that Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Kochadaiyaan' is being canned in Kerala. The newest is that the crew is filming within the renowned Chitranjali Studio Complex, Thiruvallam.

It is claimed that the Kerala state minister Ganesh Kumar who's an ardent fan of the Thalaivar arranged for this. Media isn't allowed in here and there is high level security through the shoot and for the forged and crew including Rajini, Soundarya and others who're staying on the Taj Vivanta.

Udhayanidhis unhappiness over tax exemption denial

Actor-producer Udhayanidhi Stalin has expressed unhappiness over the denial of tax exemption to his maiden heroic venture 'Oru Kal Oru Kannadi'. "Distributors and theatre owners was suffering so much as a result of this," he said.

In an announcement on Tuesday, Udhayanidhi said, "While tax exemption was given to a movie which had lyrics in English and Tamil in a single of its songs and which had a scene of a wedding being conducted in a pub, why not tax exemption receive to OKOK?"

He added: "People cutting across age groups and other barriers has been coming to cinema halls in large numbers and punctiliously enjoying OKOK. With such being the case, it's unfair that tax exemption was denied to the film."

Directed by Rajesh M and produced by Udhayanidhi himself, 'OKOK' hit the screens Friday last.

Complaint against SAC!

A team of producers led by Ibrahim Rowther on Tuesday filed a police complaint against S A Chandrasekhar and his supporters, stating that they were planning to assault the newly formed ad hoc committee members of the Tamil Film Producers Council.

In their complaint, the producers alleged that Chandrasekhar was irked that he was suspended from the post of Producers Council's president and hence he and his supporters were planning to attack the opponents.

"We learn that they were roping in hired goons to launch a murderous attack against us. So we request the police to present us adequate protection," members of the ad hoc committee said.

They added that attempts were directly to infuse fresh blood to the Producers Council and to conduct elections soon.

SAC to approach Court

S A C Chandrasekhar on Tuesday said no person has got the powers or rights to suspend him from the post of the president of Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC). "I WILL BE ABLE TO soon sue them and seek legal remedy," he said.

In his statement, SAC said he's in another country at this time and would approach the court immediately after returning India. "I USED TO BE elected because the president in a democratic manner after members voted me for the post," he said.

Stating that it was against the principles of the Council to conduct an emergency general body meeting without the consent of the president, Chandrasekhar said it was amounting to insult the members of the Council.

"If a specific office-bearer needs to be sacked, he have to be served a show case notice and his side of story need to be heard," added SAC.

Cheran has endured a mixed bag in his transition from director to actor. SOME OF his performances as an actor have won him praise, while a few of them haven't been superb in relation to box-office success.

He was seen in 'Yudham Sei' and 'Muran' last and now there may be talk that he may take in the director's baton again. Also, there's buzz that 'Engeyum Epodhum' hero Shravanand is perhaps playing the male lead on this as-yet untitled project.

Happy birthday, Chiyaan Vikram!

Chiyaan Vikram blows another candle as he celebrates his birthday today (April 17). The ace talent is in currently in London shooting for 'Thaandavam', a slick high voltage action entertainer.

Vikram's struggle for making it big within the industry needs no talking about as it's quite known to the entire. ace talent who's known for buying into the outside of the nature he plays is currently a part of few promising projects.

His next release is 'Thaandavam' a movie with AL Vijay, Anushka Shetty, Amy Jackson and Jagapathi Babu. The film is claimed to be at the lines of the famous 'Bourne Identity' series and Vikram is alleged to be seen as a blind person in one of the vital scenes. Will probably be released big by UTV Motion Pictures.

He could also be engaged on trilingual 'David' that's taking fast shape. The film by Bejoy Nambiar of 'Shaitan' fame is a gangster flick loaded with comedy. Jiiva could be seen within the Tamil - Telugu versions of the film.

Siddharth: 33, loving it!

Pan Indian actor Siddharth who enjoys a fair fan base within the Telugu - Tamil film industries celebrates his birthday today (April 17). The actor who still makes a resounding college goer turns 33 today.

He wrote on his microblogging page, "33, Loving it! Thanks thinking about the love, brought within the day with my band of boys. Fun! Now onwards and upwards".

The young talent started his second innings in Kollywood with two bilinguals - 'Nootrenbadhu' aka '180' and 'Kadhalil Sodhapuvadhu Yeppadi' which released as 'Love Failure' in Telugu. The latter opened to good response in both Tamil and Telugu and was declared successful. It can be mentioned, he turned a producer with this youthful entertainer that saw him and Amala Paul within the lead.

He has a movie with National Award winning Vetrimaaran in Tamil, and 'Chashme Baddoor' in Hindi. His Telugu film with Hansika - Shruti Haasan, 'Oh My Friend' is shortly releasing in Tamil as 'Sridhar'.

Dhanushs next: Mariyaan

The going can definitely not recuperate for National Award winning actor, Dhanush! The actor who made headlines internationally has now officially signed a movie with Bharath Bala. It was earlier reported that the duo gets together but nothing was announced officially.

The film is called 'Mariyaan' and a statement listing the opposite cast and crew is predicted shortly. Music is by Bharath Bala's good friend, AR Rahman.

Dhanush wrote on his microblogging page, "Guys, moving directly to my next now. The title is Mariyaan, directed by Bharath Bala of Vande Maataram fame. Music is by Oscar winner AR Rahman sir. God bless".

He is currently engaged on 'Raanjhnaa' with Aanand of 'Tanu Weds Manu' fame. The movie will mark his debut as an actor in Hindi and is a straightforward love story set in Varansi where he shares screen space with Sonam Kapoor.

The party was attended by Jiiva, Arya, Sibiraj and Venkat Prabhu among others and the chums had a pleasant time together, it's said. Most of them attended the bash with their spouses and it seemed like a family get-together.

The young bunch of actors share an ideal rapport with one another and whenever they get time, they hardly miss the chance to spend time together. Only last week a celebration was thrown by Prabhu Deva to celebrate his birthday which was well-attended.

Meanwhile, a movie starring 'Jayam' Ravi and Jiiva, to be directed by S P Jananathan, is at the cards and a statement is predicted soon. Remember Jiiva worked with Jananathan in 'Ee' and Ravi in 'Peranmai'.

Vivek as hero in Machan

'Machan' is seemingly the favorite word of Namitha in Tamil. And Sakthi Chidambaram is the one that directed maximum collection of Namitha movies. So there is not any wonder in him naming his comeback film as 'Machan'.

The interesting thing in regards to the film is that it will have Vivek and Karunas, the 2 top comedians of Tamil cinema, as protagonists. And what more? Sakthi Chidambaram himself will play an important role.

"Machan is a comedy caper and that is the reason why I opted for Vivek and Karunas to play the lead roles, as opposed to going for others. I'M happy to work with these two popular actors," says the director of 'Vyabari' and 'Sandai'.

Cheryl Pinto of 'Arasangam' and 'Vaa Da' fame will play the leading lady. Music can be scored by Srikanth Deva. "Shooting will start soon and it'll be completed on the earliest. Machan can be for everyone," adds the director.
