A team of producers led by Ibrahim Rowther on Tuesday filed a police complaint against S A Chandrasekhar and his supporters, stating that they were planning to assault the newly formed ad hoc committee members of the Tamil Film Producers Council.
In their complaint, the producers alleged that Chandrasekhar was irked that he was suspended from the post of Producers Council's president and hence he and his supporters were planning to attack the opponents.
"We learn that they were roping in hired goons to launch a murderous attack against us. So we request the police to present us adequate protection," members of the ad hoc committee said.
They added that attempts were directly to infuse fresh blood to the Producers Council and to conduct elections soon.
