Though there no biggies within the race, a medley of movies are seeing the sunshine of the day today (April 20), including some much-delayed ones.
The list includes AM Jothikrishna's 'Oo La La La', Pavitharan's 'Maattu Thavani', Thakkali Srinivasan's 'Aduthaduthu' and Padmalaya Cinema Visions' 'Mye'.
Oo La La La
The film marks the heroic debut of A M Jothikrishna, who directed films like 'Enakku 20 Unakku 18' and 'Kedi'. Besides playing the lead role, he has wielded the megaphone for 'Oo La La La'.
Maattu Thavani
Remember director Pavithran, who's known for movies equivalent to 'Suriyan', 'I Love India' and 'Kalloori Vaasal'. He's back with 'Maattu Thavani', a movie set within the backdrop of Madurai.
Aduthaduthu
Acclaimed filmmaker Thakkali Srinivasan makes a comeback with 'Aduthaduthu', against the law thriller starring Sriman, Nasser, Ilavarasu, Vaiyapuri, Aarthi, Dharsini and Meenal in lead roles.
Mye
A film about an aspiring politician, 'Mye' has newcomers in lead roles. Directed by Gopalan, the movie is produced by V V Suriyanarayana Raju on Padmalaya Cine Visions banner. It's being released by Sri Thenandal Films.
