Vikram – Samanthas I boasts off Rs 70 crore

If it's Shankar is on the helm of affairs, it needs to be a grand and glitzy affair. The director's forthcoming film 'I', which has Vikram and Samantha in lead roles, isn't any exception to this.

According to sources, the film is estimated to be made at the cheap of Rs 70 crore. Along with the Tamil versions, Telugu and Hindi versions can be made simultaneously.

"Producer Aascar V Ravichandran is excited about joining hands with Shankar and Vikram after the super hit Anniyan. All that he wants is a grand venture with none compromise at the budget," sources say.

The film could have music by A R Rahman and a few of the highest technicians of the sector are working in it. With dialogues by writer duo Subha, the movie has story and screenplay by Shankar himself. This can be a romantic thriller.

Kamal clears air on Viswaroopam 2

Ever because the Ulaganayagan announced a sequel to his yet-to-be-released magnum opus 'Viswaroopam', rumor mills worked overtime that 'Viswaroopam' is just too lengthy a movie and scenes were chopped off for use within the next part! Kamal Haasan has finally cleared air in this front. He expressed that he wishes to make a sequel for this pet project and nearly 40 % of the sequel has already been shot! He further added, "I ventured to make this film only once I was convinced that the audience will love it for sure.  We've got never seen this kind of story at the Indian screen within the past.  Viswaroopam touches upon some problems with contemporary national and international politics."

Kamal went on record saying that Viswaroopam is the most costly film in his career.  He plays Vishwanath aka Wiz within the film.  From what's heard of the story, he's not playing double roles but only one.  While Vishwanath is a Kathak dancer, Wiz is an FBI agent.

Aishwaryas second directorial: A love story again!

Aishwarya R Dhanush, who made a far mentioned directorial debut with '3', is gearing as much as start her next venture. "This time too it will likely be a love story, but may be set in a special backdrop," say sources.

Protest against Viswaroopam

Hindu Makkal Katchi, the self styled moral police which was previously up in arms against some Tamil movies, is striking again. This time against 'Viswaroopam', a magnum opus by Kamal Haasan.

According to the party, the title need to be changed because it isn't a Tamil word. "Viswaroopam is a Sanskrit word. Kamal, a task model to aspiring actors, should set an example by going for a pure Tamil title," says Kannan of HMK.

"Kamal lives in Tamil Nadu and have become popular only by acting Tamil movies. So why should he not wish to name his film in Tamil. We're hopeful that Kamal will understand our appeal and alter the title," he adds.

It is also recalled that HMK earlier protested a song in Kamal Haasan's 2010 film 'Manmadhan Ambu', following which it was far from the movie. The party alleged that the song had explicit sexual references.

Rajini to play villain in Dhoom 3?

This is the most recent buzz in tinsel town. However Rajini is yet to offer his nod for the project and it isn't very clear if he'll give conform to do a multi-starrer considering his massive fan base. 'Dhoom 3' stars Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Uday Chopra and Rajini's 'Kochadaiyaan' co-star Jackie Shroff. It's said that Rajini was approached to play the primary villain within the film. It can be mentioned Aamir Khan plays the villain on this film and Rajini's character could be that of the larger baddie. Let's just hope in case he agrees to do the project his character can be of substantial importance and never a disappointing graphic cameo like in 'Ra.One'!

Saguni to look a tremendous release!

Karthi Sivakumar is one lucky man, we definitely must say. The actor graced Kollywood with 5 blockbusters and his sixth film, 'Saguni', is seeing an immense solo release now that Ajith's 'Billa 2' is seeing a delay. It will see a world release with greater than 1000 prints! The Telugu prints alone are 400 that's quite an enormous opening, considering it is a dubbed version in Telugu. It maybe mentioned, until now, Karthi's films have only had about 600 prints in Tamil itself! While 'Saguni' in Tamil has a clean 'U' certificate, the Telugu 'Sakuni' was given a 'U/A'. Both the versions will simultaneously release on June 22. Songs by GV Prakash have received a good response in both the states. Directed by debutant Shankar Dayal, the film has Karthi and Pranitha in lead roles with Santhanam for comic relief. It is a political satire with Karthi playing mind games, thus the title.

Kajal Aggarwal who enjoys an excellent fan base in Tamil - Telugu cinema celebrates her birthday today (June 19). While 'Maatraan' sees Suriya against this roles and is canned in numerous locales from around the globe, 'Thupaki' is eagerly expected as Vijay could be seen in a suave avatar, unlike his usual mass flicks. She has also bagged amusing riot, 'All In All Azhagu Raja' in an effort to be helmed by Rajesh with Karthi, Kajal and Santhanam within the lead. Kavita Radheshyam re-loads Silk Smitha

It seems like late Silk Smitha has become the flavour of the season and everybody's icon this season. Kavita Radheshyam who shocked everyone by going nude for a photoshoot, raising her voice against animal cruelty, has now released another shocker!

Kavita Radheshyam, who's now selected as a Brand Ambassador for Smriti India (Save The lady Child) has get a hold of this photoshoot which she dedicates and pays a homage to south Indian actress Silk Smitha who committed suicide within the year 1996.

According to Kavita, "Silk Smitha was an actress who dared to make a mark of her own in a male dominating film industry. She was never from any filmy background, not a 'Star' daughter, never followed any lobby-ism or group-ism. Silk started as a small time make up artist in south cinema and went directly to become a celebrity in an overly short period. I'M a large fan of Silk Smitha and wish to salute and tribute my photoshoot to her".

Kavita further added "I CAN'T understand why persons are looking to talk or show Silk Smitha in a negative way, from what I'VE heard through my accurate sources from South, Silk was an overly all the way down to earth woman who went out of her technique to help people in need. I met a producer whom I WILL NOT name, he had worked together with her and Silk didn't charge a single penny since the producer was in debt".

On the shoot, she says, "First of all, my team was on the lookout for costumes for this shoot, Designer Babita Sharma worked for 15 days and he or she came up with this idea of wearing only a white shirt and getting the photographs done. When you search Silk at the internet, one can find her mostly in a white shirt or a saree. My photographer Reena Khan and artistic Eswar both were kind enough to turn me Silk Smitha's cult Tamil hit film "Playboy". After some long discussions, I MAY feel that my designer Babita Sharma and my photographers Reena Khan and Eswar were scared in the event that they could do any justice to the photoshoot. But now, after seeing the results, all of us are more then happy. People literally started a comparison. A few of them also said that I WILL be today's Silk Smitha, that is an honor for me".

Kavita Radheshyam is awaiting the discharge of her upcoming Hindi feature film '5 Ghantey Mien 5 Crore'.

Ilayaraja = Music – IG Special

The following article is by a user and isn't IndiaGlitz's take towards anyone or anything. Written by Shreesha BU. He is admired within the west, esteemed nationally and respected here within the South. There's little that is not been written about this "Genius". Stalwarts in music have sung paeans, written reams in this incredibly talented musician. To the layman his music have been his everything for anything in his life. Music for all emotions in his life. To millions of his unflinching fans the letter "I" within the word music represented Ilayaraja. There is little of the person you can distinguish behind those simple clothes, and his controlled movements. You will have to take a more in-depth take a look at his face and never miss that enigmatic smile, which obscures greater than it reveals. His eyes capitulates all of it. It reflects the brilliance, the honesty and the purity of his music. Similar to you yield to his music, you surrender to this prodigy.

It's greater than tempting to name him essentially the most "Complete" music composer. While composers before and after him composed the standard way creating tunes and orchestrating it later, IR wrote music for his tune. Mystifying is his ability to structure a song in his mind and to write down the notes for it to be played by the musicians later. It's similar to writing a narrative. He made it sound so effortless. It is the novices who would call him folk king, for his understanding of western music could be very profound. He's undoubtedly the virtuoso recitalist when it came to fusion music. In an era and subsequent as well, where fusion music meant mixing of 2 genres like oil and water, IR's blend of Indian and western music was so flawless and sonorous. A rich folk song could be layered with delightfully crafted western pieces that during no way cluttered the nativity of the song. Only in isolation would the pieces be deciphered. Basically the song would retain the flavour to its end. He has done all of it. Done all genres. He was no magician, for he in no way believed in tricks. He never would slip in an instrument as a component of surprise within the ensemble already decided. His signature preludes and interludes will defy time generations to come back. His objectivity in composing could be very ordered. He never let musicians and singers overlap, his preludes and interludes were for his creative best with instruments and while the singers took centre stage, he let the rhythm play, never for once letting the instruments override the singers. Overall the tenor of the song from the start to the top never wavered. The instruments never tried to sing nor did the singers attempt to sound like an instrument. Violins and flute dominated most of his interludes yet every interlude carried its own characteristics rarely crying attention of a repetition. Imagine this for over 10000 preludes, interludes, themes or BGMS that may take ones breath away. We will easily have over 10000 new tunes together with his preludes and interludes alone.. Most of his songs will also be simply identified with an interlude or a prelude. Its astonishing considering his music bank has over 6000 songs. He has everything for each sentiment. Each soundtrack of his is a narrative. That may be perhaps the explanation why whilst you remix his song it still doesn't come on the subject of his original.  For whilst you take heed to the unique track chances are you'll take a look at scope for improvements but if you do try improvising the output is unexciting. His songs are best left alone, to not be tweaked.

He never tried to bighead himself in his compositions. He kept it simple, straight and earnest. Soul was never sacrificed for brilliance, intelligence or smartness. He would never compromise anything in regards to the track; he had all of it behind his illuminating eyes. He knew the most efficient; improvisations never crept in, be it in singing or the orchestration. It's a mystery why this incredibly talented musician just rarely ventured out of his succinct. Together with his enormous talent coupled with a resonant knowledge of worldwide music it's surprising to look this genius being swept away by the brand new generation composers. More startling is to look a subdued image of his former self. For we all know what this "Greatness" personified is able to. As all of us stay up for the gentle breeze to comb us back into his kingdom once again, we will be able to have his memorable songs to kindle every emotion within us goodbye.
