As the clock is ticking for Mugamoodi's release, the film's producer G Dhananjayan of UTV Films has expressed that the superhero flick's sequel may be bigger in scale, making and probably in 3D! The makers will however take a decision only after seeing the response to Mugamoodi come Friday, of course. Mugamoodi by Mysskin sees Jiiva, Narein and Pooja Hegde in lead roles with Nasser in a pivotal role and has music by K. The film is a feel good commercial entertainer with plenty of action scenes. It seems, he surprised his wife Gitanjali and the duo spent some quality time with their lil' one, Lilavati, and headed to Chennai's hotspot, Marina beach, that's dear to each Chennaiite. Meanwhile, shoot of Irandam Ulagam was wrapped and post-production work will commence shortly. With music by Harris Jayaraj, the film will simultaneously release in Telugu as Brindavanam Lo Nandakumarudu and stars Arya and Anushka. It's touted to look them in dual roles, set in two different periods. Additionally it is said that Arya and Anushka can be seen as tribal people within the period scenes. Irandam Ulagam reportedly aims at a January 2013 release.

Shankar Vs SS Rajamouli
The following review is by a user and isn't IndiaGlitz's take towards anyone or anything. Written by Ramesh Ganapathy
Indian cinema has undergone the ages and has undergone an excessive amount of retrospect to supply for everybody. While South India has get a hold of a large number of promising flicks, it's still removed from perfect, especially now with movies flocking theatre halls every weekend. Secretly behind the scenes, there are highly driven and talented directors, scared yet influential distributors and producers who can weave around them for profit.
Amidst all this, however, a couple of have arise battling against odds and establishing their very own markets, and types that experience significantly impacted the way in which people around them and everywhere checked out cinema (even film schedules after a definite point of time). Today we glance at two such directors, Mr. S.Shankar and Mr. S.S.Rajamouli. I THINK most people have heard of them, but a couple of introductions are in order, nonetheless.
Both these men are recognized well in a minimum of South India, if not in it's fullest. It's obvious they've been very successful. Either one of them have get a hold of the blockbuster hits (biggest numbers in South Indian Cinema, to be precise) in the course of time - Endhiran for Shankar and Maghadheera for Rajamouli. They both take pleasure in making commercialized movies (one maybe greater than the other), and so they both appear to be sharing the same love for using lighting tricks of their movies. But are they truly perfect and after we put them head to head, which one goes to return on top?
Let's take a better take a look at our man Shankar. He often is the highest paid director in India today, but his journey was long. Unlike directors who appear and disappear, Shankar didn't take long to make his mark. His first film, Gentleman shot him to fame and earned him two Best Director awards. His career followed up with more success stories in Kaadhalan, Indian, Sivaji, Anniyan and Endhiran. Even his latest of the pack, Nanban is a blockbuster. However, there are two small dents within the form "Naayak" and "Boys" which did not prove so well for Shankar. A MORE IN-DEPTH have a look at his movies explains why.
All of Shankar's movies cope with a countrywide issue, something that needs a large number of attention. In each of his attempts, he tries to get on the subject of a solution that never approaches India. The truth that his movies have such a lot commercialism is weird, especially the way in which the lead character can switch between being an informal heroine wooer into someone who can't tolerate injustice scene after scene. Even more, the audiences appear to love the way in which he goes about it. Highly expensive sets, never before seen (in Tamil cinema) lighting tricks and action sequences that keep us wondering in the event that they are even possible, are trademark Shankar attributes. This seems to be his success formula and he doesn't really need (or intend on) giving up.
On the opposite side, we have now Rajamouli who came out of a family of means, a lot of whom were part of cinema. However, it took him 8 long years before he could find the appropriate pair of brogues. His debut came in 2001 with Junior NTR's Student Number one. and it became a roaring hit. While Shankar enjoyed an excellent quicker rise to fame, Rajamouli had big releases follow up one at a time within a brief time period. Sye, Chatrapathi, Vikramakudu and Yamadonga all continued his success story and by then, this man had gotten numerous attention. Then came the mum of all Telugu films, Maghadheera, in 2009 which sealed his success in Tollywood.
While the previous serious about nationalistic tops, Rajamouli was more into straightforward commercialism. He made no attempts to cover it and in each of his movies, and it usually turned out and impressed audiences. Visuals and sets in fact greatly praised, especially in Yamadonga and Maghadheera and movies went directly to become blockbusters even if they lacked the catchiness of a Shankar movie (which also saw huge success when dubbed into Telugu). This calls to doubt whether his attempts would became as successful in the event that they were made for a distinct form of audience. The solution came within the type of Eega (Naan Ee in Tamil)which was released both in Tollywood and Kollywood and got good reviews.
In an immediate comparison, Shankar and Rajamouli seem to share a large number of similar aspects. They enjoy making exquisite songs that involve spending some huge cash and so they don't mind having an excellent amount of action of their movies. But even if they've almost the similar selection of movies (11 for Shankar and 9 for Rajamouli), it does appear quite clearly that Shankar is the leading horse here. He does seem to play the ropes quite well and knows exactly the right way to use his heroes impressing audiences across classes. Rajamouli while playing catch up has seen enough success (with none dents if truth be told.) When he starts making more multi-lingual films, will probably be more fun to peer sums up. Seems like these guys are gonna continue to make commercial films after all.

CFBC bans A certificate films on TV!
The Indian film industry is in a state of outrage for the Central Board for Film Certification aka CBFC has banned 'A' certificate films entirely, for broadcasting on any television channels! As per this new rule, a movie certified with an 'A' certificate by the CBFC can't be screened on television channels.
So far, such films were censored for TV screening and were allowed to be screened after 11 pm. But now, the CBFC has announced that it'll not re-certify the films, thus meaning films with an A certificate are unfit for TV screening! This is an immense shocker for producers; as a bit of revenue from films comes from satellite rights and lots of films especially action entertainers have 'A' certificates because of the violent content or so. A ban on these films on TV goes to electrify the entertainment market at many levels and directors can be forced to return out with U films, even though the script demands otherwise. Do you settle with CBFC's decision? And what is going to happen to the movies that boast off an 'A' and feature been already bought by TV channels for whooping prices? Only time will tell the tale.
Mani Ratnams Kadal aims at November
It seems Mani Ratnam is planning on releasing 'Kadal' in November and has reportedly announced this at an event in Pondicherry. However, it cannot be said whether he's planning on releasing it at the side of Thupaki and Vaalu for Diwali or is aiming at a solo release in November.
Starring debutants and star kids, Gautham Karthik and Tulasi Nair, 'Kadal', because the title suggests is ready at the fisher folk and their encounters within the seas. Tulasi is claimed to play a woman of her age within the film. Both the actors' faces was guarded from the media.
Music is by AR Rahman, in fact. The film marks Mani Ratnam's comeback to a Tamil film and a romantic one after several years.

It's further said that this film can be wrapped before Kamal's Hollywood project with Barrie Osborne goes on floors. The duo have been meeting several times of late and sources suggest the film will go on floors shortly.
However we won't ensure if Kamal could be directing the film as suggested by few media reports since he just helmed Viswaroopam. Meanwhile, 'Viswaroopam' is taking shape in a quick pace. The film stars Kamal Haasan along side Pooja Kumar and Andrea Jeremiah.

"It's baseless. Rana and i've been friends forever and it isn't fair to link us or spread rumors about an engagement that did not happen. I'm here to stick and that i haven't even considered marriage yet, I'm engaged on 3 Tamil movies", says a miffed Trisha.

Hansika: I couldnt provide bulk dates for Vettai
On Friday, there have been reports of the way Tamannah piped Hansika out of the Telugu remake of 'Vettai'. The actress has now come forward to give an explanation for on what went wrong and why she needed to opt out of it.
"Unfortunately I needed to back out of the Telugu remake of Vettai as a result of date issues as they're planning on releasing the film by the top of this year and i've six projects on board in Tamil and Telugu. I COULD NOT provide the majority dates this film needed! But I wish the team the entire best with it", says Hansika.
"This is the true explanation for me opting out of the film, I'M HOPING it puts an end to the rumors", says Hansika. It goes without saying that once an actress opts out of a project because of whatever reasons, several versions make the rounds but Hansika has come forward to position an end to them all.
Vettai in Telugu will see Nag Chaitanya, Sunil, Andrea Jeremiah and Tamannah within the lead roles.
Nayantara replaces Vidya Balan?
Earlier it was rumored that National Award winning Vidya Balan will play the lead lady in Arival Chutika Nakshatram, starring Mammootty and Prithviraj. It's now said that Nayantara who concerned with a powerful comeback post her get a divorce with Prabhu Deva, will essay this role. Helmed by Amal Neerad, the film may be produced by August Cinemas whilst the script is penned by Shankar of Urumi fame. Arival Chutika Nakshatram is about within the 1960s and the makers are toying with the theory of releasing it in 3D although nothings been confirmed officially yet.

Kamal Haasans Viswaroopam releases on October 12?
It's now said that Kamal Haasan's multi-lingual Viswaroopam aka Vishwaroop will grace worldwide screens on October 12! Although nothing was announced officially, sources as regards to the unit confirm these reports.
Viswaroopam will release simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi and sees Kamal Haasan within the lead role. He has also helmed this project, his daughter Akshara Haasan worked as an assistant director to him on this flick that's jointly produced by Kamal's Raj Kamal Pictures and PVP Cinema.
Viswaroopam that boasts off an undisclosed huge budget (rumored to be 150 crores) sees Kamal Haasan, debutant Pooja Kumar and Andrea Jeremiah within the lead roles. The film is touted to look Kamal as a Kathak dancer who runs his dance classes in New Jersey.
Viswaroopam sees Kamal as a married man along with his wife, desirous to better her career and get a divorce with him. To feel better she hires a detective to grasp about her husband's flaws and past and all hell breaks lose.
Viswaroopam is red hot in trade within India and in overseas and can release on October 12 amidst much expectations.

Kadal: Post-production work kickstarts
Mani Ratnam has almost completed shooting for his next film 'Kadal' and is alleged to be heading back to Chennai, to oversee the post-production works of the movie.
The ace filmmaker has finished shooting the film in record time. Karthik's son Gautham and Radha's younger daughter Tulasi play the lead roles on this flick, that is set across the lives of fisher folk.
"Mani has shot Kadal in probably the most beautiful locales of southern Tamil Nadu and Andaman. The editing work too was done simultaneously. Now he's going to be back in Chennai to deal with post-production," sources say.
'Kadal' has Arjun and Aravind Swamy in crucial roles. Vairamuthu has penned a song on fishermen and sea and it's said to be some of the highlights of the album, so one can be released soon.
‘Naan Ee’ sees successful 50 day run
At a time when even big actors find it difficult to outlive an excellent run within theatres, Tamil - Telugu bilingual Naan Ee has completed 50 successful days in the box office today. The film that boasts off some great graphics is helmed by first class Telugu director SS Rajamouli, who debuted in Tamil with Naan Ee. It also sees Nani and Samantha within the lead roles and Sudeep because the powerful antagonist. In fact, Sudeep hogged the entire limelight for his villainous performance and won accolades even from the Superstar. Naan Ee is a standard good vs. evil battle and sees the hero avenging his death by reincarnating as a housefly.

What Rajini spoke to Shiva?
Though 'Thillu Mullu' is a light-hearted film, director Badri, who's remaking the cult hit, isn't able to take things light.
Apparently to prove this, he and the brand new version's hero Shiva, recently called on K Balachander, the director of the unique version; Superstar Rajinikanth, the lead actor; and Kamal Haasan, who did a guest role.
On their meeting with Rajini, Badri says, "The Superstar told Siva that he feared so much when Balachander desired to do Thillu Mullu with him. 'Because I USED TO BE doing only action roles before that. But KB sir completely changed my body language for Thillu Mullu and he ensured that the film became successful. But you needn't worry because you have already established yourself in humor roles. I'M sure you'll rock', said Rajini."
Badri adds: "ONCE WE met Kamal, he revealed that really he desired to produce and play the lead role in Thillu Mullu, but changed his mind later.'Only as a result of that I did a cameo in Thillu Mullu', Kamal said."
The director further says that Balachander liked the casting of the movie- Shiva, Isha Talwar, Prakash Raj and Oorvasi.
He also says Shiva would fit the role. "Rajini's films like Enthiran, Baadsha and Padayappa shouldn't be remade with Shiva within the lead. But Thillu Mullu can also be remade."

'Boys' fame Nakul who was last seen in Kandhakottai can be coming round again after a brief hiatus through 'Vallinam'. The film is produced by Aascar Ravichandran and it's now said that the producer who's confident at the film's script has spent lavishly on few scenes that demanded a definite budget. Vijay in Salmans Ek Tha Tiger remake?
With Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger breaking more records with each day, it's now said that Ilayathalapathy Vijay will remake this commercial entertainer in Tamil. Rumors of a remake of the film in Telugu are being suggested besides but no heroes name have been suggested to this point for Telugu.
Buzz is that Editor Mohan has bought the Tamil remake rights of the film and it'll be helmed by Jayam Raja who worked with Vijay in Velayudham. It's said that the director and Vijay will come together for this remake post Vijay's film with AL Vijay.

TV Actor Vijay Adiraj Direct a brand new Film
The TV actor and anchor, Vijay Adiraj, turned director fulfilling a fourteen year old dream along with his first film,titled Puthagam, today.
The film stars Rakul Preet Singh , a former Ms India People’s Choice 2011, Sathya, the brother of actor Arya, Vignesh, the KSY actor who plays friend to Siddharth and Sanjay Krishna, the son of actor and director Santhanabharathy.A grand puja was held at a number one city hotel and the film went straight at the floors on the hotel premises itself.
The movie is a rom com and thriller and Laxman Kumar, the DOP of Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu fame is handling the camera.This is James Vasanthan’s next film for which he has already composed one song.
Uma Padmanabhan plays crucial role because the heroine’s mother on this film produced by Ram Pictures Pvt Ltd. Artwork is by GK and costumes by Priya Manikandan.

S Madhan of Vendhar Movies has bagged the discharge rights of Srikanth - Janani Iyer starrer Paagan for an undisclosed price. The makers are actually readying the film for a September release.
Helmed by Aslam, 'Paagan' is an out and out laugh riot with Srikanth trying his hands at comedy in few scenes. Parotta Suri plays a vital role together with Paandi, Kovai Sarala and A Venkatesh. Suri has rendered a song in James Vasanthan music.
Viswas U Lad and V Purushothaman have produced the movie under their banner VP productions.

Gautham Menon: Yohan with Vijay isn't happening
Although unofficial it was a great deal known to at least one and all that Yohan Adhyayam Ondru have been shelved, but both Ilayathalapathy Vijay and Gautham Menon remained tight lipped about this.

Maattraan releases on September 19?
It seems like there's some clarity with release dates of biggies today. It's now said that Suriya's film as conjoined twins, Maattrraan also spelt as Maatraan will grace screens as a Vinayaga Chathurthi special on September 19.
The film's audio has received massive response and is claimed to be 2012's biggest hit so far.
Meanwhile the film is red hot in trade with the Telugu dubbing and distribution rights bought by Bellamkonda Suresh for a complicated price of 17 crore! The Karnataka and Kerala theatrical rights have also been reportedly sold for Rs 4 and Rs 3 crore.

Shrutis salary Rs one crore?
Shruti Haasan has emerged a hot cake in Tollywood way to the success of 'Gabbar Singh'. The Pawan Kalyan starrer remake of 'Dabangg' (which was made in Tamil as 'Osthe') has put Shruthi on top of the Telugu film industry.
Now, reports from Andhra Pradesh suggest that the actress-singer-musician have been paid Rs one crore as remuneration for her upcoming Telugu film.
Titled 'Balupu', the movie has Ravi Teja because the leading lady. It's said producer P V P Prasad has paid the quantity to Shruti and received bulk dates from her for the project.
However, circles just about Shruti refuted to ensure this. "She have been getting what she deserves and she or he isn't the one that asks for more remuneration benefiting from the demand for her," they maintain.
Mugamoodi bags clean U
The censor board has certified UTV Motion Pictures' Mugamoodi with a clean U certificate and the film, as announced earlier by the makers, will grace worldwide screens on August 31. The film was given a U certificate with little or no muting in a few scenes alone.
Mugamoodi that's touted to be the primary superhero flick in Tamil sees Jiiva, Narein, Pooja Hegde in lead roles and has music by K while the flick is helmed by Mysskin. Mysskin has gone on record stating that the film could be no Superman or Batman, but a movie tailor-made for Indians and in regards to the superhero within oneself.
Mugamoodi sees some high voltage action scenes between Jiiva and Narein, it can be mentioned that the duo underwent training in martial arts for the film.

Samuthirakani learns Kannada
Samuthirakani appears to be emerging a pan South India personality. The preferred Kollywood director established himself in Tollywood with the remake of 'Nadodigal', titled 'Shambo Shiva Shambo'.
In Mollywood, he's not just referred to as a director, but as an actor too. And now, the actor-filmmaker's focus is on Kannada film industry, popularly referred to as Sandalwood.
Samuthirakani is operating in Puneet Rajkumar's next, 'Yaare Koogadali'. "Working with Puneet and others is a pleasant experience. I'M learning Kannada and this have been a captivating experience."
Back home in Kollywood, Samuthirakani is operating with 'Jayam' Ravi in 'Nimirndhu Nil'. The film has Amala Paul because the leading lady and is being made simultaneously in Telugu as well.
Rajini does it for Vijay, Suriya
Superstar Rajinikanth has asked those behind the 3D version of his blockbuster film 'Sivaji' to release it before Deepavali, after he learnt that Vijay's 'Thupakki' and Suriya's 'Maatraan' would see the sunshine of the day at the day of lights.
According to sources, Rajini felt that his film shouldn't pose a hindrance to the gathering of these starring the 2 young actors within the lead.
Hence, he has placed a request before AVM Productions, the producers of 'Sivaji', to release the 3D version before Deepavali.
Also, it was Soundarya R Ashwin's wish that her father's first 3D movie need to be 'Kochadaiyaan'. However, Rajini has asked her to carry the discharge of 'Kochadaiyaan' after AVM decided to transform 'Sivaji' into 3D format.
Madhan Karky makes a mark
In not up to two years he started his journey as a lyricist, Madhan Karky has penned 100 songs. All of it began with 'Irumbile oru idhayam...', a chartbuster in Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Enthiran' in 2010.
And now, one of the crucial songs he has penned for 'Settai' has turned out to be the 100th selection of Madhan Karky, son of veteran poet and lyric writer Vairamuthu.
"Wrote my 100th song last night. A breezy romantic number for Settai. Way to director Kannan and @MusicThaman for the song," wrote Madhan Karky on his microblogging page.
Thanking one and all, he added: "THE ADVENTURE from #irumbile to this song don't have been possible without your wishes, feedback and support."
At present, Karky is penning lyrics for a bunch of movies, including Mani Ratnam's 'Kadal'.
Case against Tamannah
A Bollywood producer has moved court against Tamannah, alleging that she has did not honour her contract with him that requires her to shell out 25 per cent of her earnings for 5 years to the producer.
According to Salim Akhtar, he introduced Tamannah within the Hindi film 'Chand Sa Roshan Chehra' in 2005. The film was directed by Shabah Shamsi.
Later, Tamannah migrated to the South and made it big in Kollywood and Tollywood. She has now been signed by Sajid Khan to share the screen space with Ajay Devgn within the 'Himmatwala' remake.
"My agreement with Tamannah dated October 28, 2003 clearly states that she is on a revenue sharing basis with my company, Aftab Pictures Pvt Ltd, from March 2005 till March 2010. But she didn't share a single paise," Akhtar reportedly said.
Vizhithidu Nenje… says Rahman for Dhanush
That A R Rahman is scoring music for a Dhanush starrer ('Mariyaan') for the primary time is understood to many. The unknown thing is that the Oscar winner, besides composing the tunes, has also lent his voice.
"Rahman has crooned the number 'Vizhithidu Nenje...' and it has come excellent. The maestro's voice has done the much needed magic to the song," say sources within the know.
They add: "The number was recently shot at the lead pair- Dhanush and Parvathy- and the visuals were extraordinary. Rahman's composition and how the song was canned will make it stand proud of the list."
Produced by Aascar Ravichandran, 'Mariyaan' is directed by Bharat Bala, who shares a detailed rapport with Rahman. In fact, it was this duo (Rahman and Bharat Bala) who gave us 'Vandemataram' in 1997.

Tapsee Pannu tried her hands at adventure, when she was in Ladakh for a month shooting for one in all her upcoming movies.
The 'Aadukalam' girl rafted for 15 km and is thrilled in regards to the experience. "How am i able to stay quiet without rafting once I was in Ladakh? Those were thrilling moments," the actress says.
Recalling the experience, she says, "The valley is popular for rafting. So once we got an afternoon off, I and a few of the members of the unit went for rafting. Some foreigners also were a part of the rafting team."
At present, Tapsee is a part of 'Marandhen Mannithen' and Ajith's upcoming film, that is being directed by Vishnuvardhan. Interestingly, 'Marandhen Mannithen' is simultaneously being made in Telugu as 'Gundello Godhari'.
In God I trust: Shruthi
That Kamal Haasaan is an atheist is an open secret in these parts. But his elder daughter Shruthi Haasan has no second thought in accepting that she is a robust believer of God.
"There was no pooja room at my home since my father is a non-believer. But I BEGAN believing the Almighty and i've complete trust in Him," says Shruthi.
The actress-singer-music composer adds: "I frequently visit many temples. Whenever I LOCATE time, I WILL BE ABLE TO visit a temple. And my father has not questioned me anything about this," says Shruthi.
Saying that she would never quit music for the sake of anything, Shruthi adds: "I DO NOT know what actress Shruthi would do after 10 years. But I'M sure musician Shruthi can be functioning at that time."

Looks like Ram Gopal Varma can't stop raving about Sridevi after watching the trailer of the yesteryear heroine's comeback venture 'English Vinglish'.
"Watched 'English Vinglish' trailer. After 15 year hiatus, Sridevi is asking 15 times more beautiful and seems to became 15 times better actress," wrote the ace director on his microblogging page.
'English Vinglish', which marks the directorial debut of Gauri Shinde (wife of popular filmmaker Balki), is being made in Hindi and Tamil, simultaneously.
The Tamil version has a guest appearance by Ajith. The cameo was done within the Hindi version by Amitabh Bachchan.
The movie can be premiered at Toronto International Film Festival this year that is going to be held from September 6-16.
It is a narrative of a woman's struggle with the English language and the insecurities she faces on account of it. The film shot mostly in Big apple captures her transformational journey.
Vishal with Boopathy Pandian again
Vishal and director Boopathy Pandian enthralled the audience with 'Malaikottai' many years ago. The duo is teaming up again, this time too for an action-filled entertainer.
The movie can be produced by Michael Rayappan, who had produced 'Nadodigal' and 'Sindhu Samaveli' before. Michael Rayappan is currently a member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, representing Radhapuram constituency.
"Boopathy Pandian is busy giving finishing touches to the script of his upcoming film. The project will hit the floors once Vishal completes Samar and Madha Gaja Raja," sources say.
It could also be recalled that Boopathy Pandian recently walked out of his upcoming bilingual, which he was making with Gopichand and Nayanthara within the lead roles.

While 'Atta Kathi' witnessed a large opening and managed to win the applause of the audience, 'Naan', the acting debut of music composer Vijay Antony, is being credited as an entertainer with difference.

Neethanae En Ponvasanthams teaser magic
Gautham Menon and Ilayaraja's combination in Neethanae En Ponvasantham is certain to weave magic especially some of the young and the young at heart, what with the response their teasers have become. The recently unveiled 'Ennoda Vaa Vaa...' teaser isn't any exception to this.
The melody crooned by Karthik sees the lead roles, Jiiva and Samantha as school students and teens head over heels for every other. The transformations between these stages is smooth within the teaser way to the lead actors who're convincing as highschool students.
The audio of Neethanae En Ponvasantham can be released on September 1 in Chennai where Ilayaraja will perform live. Post this the film will release within the fag end of November.

Keerthana joins as Assistant Director in Ajiths next!
The little girl who wowed everyone as a kid artist in Mani Rathnam's Kannathil Muthamittal, Keerthana, has now joined as an Assistant Director in Ajith - Vishnuvardhan's untitled venture! She joined the shoot in Mumbai recently and it kind of feels Keerthana was literally applauding for a shot Ajith did.
Ajith later is alleged to have had a pep talk with Keerthana and had personally welcomed her to the sets. Keerthana is the daughter of R Parthiepan.
Its strongly rumored that Ajith can be seen as a hacker on this film that still sees Arya, Nayantara and Taapsee Pannu within the lead roles and has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Hotshot Rana Daggubati had done a cameo on this film.
Some high voltage action scenes were canned on Tuesday (August 14).
Nimirndhu Nil: Schedule one wrapped
Samuthirakani is operating on Tamil - Telugu bilingual, Nimirndhu Nil, starring Jayam Ravi (Nani in Telugu) and Amala Paul within the lead roles isn't any longer news. The primary schedule has now been wrapped after it was shot within the scenic locales of Chalakudy and Goa. The Goa schedule happened for just about a week.
Speaking about her bilingual experience Amala told, "I MUST repeat the similar scenes twice, with Jayam Ravi and Nani, and it feels different yet great, I told Samuthirakani that it appears like I'm two-timing with the duo!"
Meanwhile Jayam Ravi is juggling between this venture and 'Boologam' with Trisha. The primary Look posters of Nimirndhu Nil were well received but only saw Ravi, one featuring both the lead actors is yet to be unveiled.
Rajinikanth: Black & white to paint to 3D to animation
With Rajinikanth's Sivaji gearing as much as release in 3D and him engaged on Kochadaiyaan that's a period animated entertainer so that they can also release in 3D, its now said that the Superstar of Tamil cinema, Rajinikanth, would be the first Indian to behave in four formats of films, black and white, color, 3D and animation!
It is also mentioned, his Kochadaiyaan was also imagined to be the primary Indian film to make use of performance capture technology, a technology utilized in films like Avatar, but another Tamil film, 'Maattrraan', starring Suriya and Kajal Aggarwal broke this record through the use of motion capturing technology for the film's action scenes. Kochadaiyaan is the primary 3D animation fantasy flick in India.
Speaking on it Rajini had earlier quoted, "Its tough to assume and act in motion capture technology for there is a lot to assume and mime. We need to visualise and higher to get into the surface of the nature without make up, costumes or locations!"
While Kochadaiyaan that's slated to release on Rajini's birthday or sometime later this year was touted to be his next release post his sickness, it came as a nice surprise, even to Rajini, that AVM Productions are converting Sivaji right into a 3D version and readying it for a release in September!
Samantha is back
Samantha, who took a break from acting following skin ailment, stood in front of the camera in Hyderabad a few days ago, for her upcoming Telugu movie.
"A few weeks ago itself it was reported that she was back to work. But only now she has returned to the sets," say sources. The film in question is directed by Nandini Reddy, with Siddharth playing the lead role.
It is alleged that some 'continuity scenes' were shot on Samantha at the first day. "Though the actress looked bit tired, she gave her best in front of the camera," add sources.
Samatha needed to walk out of Mani Ratnam's 'Kadal', and Shankar's 'I', as a result of skin trouble. The actress's recent movie 'Naan Ee' was declared successful all over the place south India. Her upcoming film is 'Neethane En Ponvasantham' directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon.

Vikram's Thaandavam's audio can be unveiled in a big scale tomorrow evening (August 15) at 6.30 pm on the Chennai Trade Center. 1001 Vikram fans will grace the affair in an effort to have several live performances of the film's songs.
The makers, UTV Motion Pictures, who're known for his or her innovative marketing strategies down south, have get a hold of a themed audio invite that throws light at the seven Thaandavams of the Lord Shiva, as though Vikram is performing these Thaandavams within the film. Remember even the trailer had the BGM of the Sivathaandavam? The film marks GV Prakash's 25th innings.
The audio invite has a quote that says, "The source of all movement, Shiva's dance, gives rhythm to the universe, he dances in evil places, in sacred, he creates and preserves, destroys and releases".

Simbus Podaa Podi ends with a dance!
Simbu is currently juggling between various films including long pending Podaa Podi. The most recent is that the film will end with a dance competition kuthu number featuring STR aka Simbu, Varalakshmi Sarathkumar and Shobana. "Usually climax scenes have emotional or action scenes but Podaa Podi has a climax with a dance performance", says Vignesh Shiva who's directing the romantic musical. It is claimed that this kuthu number composed by Dharan is choreographed by Prem Rakshit and was shoot for just about two weeks in Mumbai! Meanwhile buzz is that the film will release within the fag end of November.

Jackie Shroff Villan to RajiniKanth
It is confirmed that Jackie Shroff will play the primary villain in Rajinikanth’s Soundarya Rajinikanth directed Kochadaiyaan.
The major confrontation scenes between Rajinikanth the hero and Jackie Shroff have been shot in Pinewood studios in London.
Jackie says it was a pleasure working with Rajinikanth, “the complete professional”. Within the film his name is Raja a personality with negative shades.The actor is reluctant to speak further about Kochadaiyaan.

Eros have been assigned the Tamil theatrical rights for Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka and the Tamil audio rights of the movie. A press statement was issued by Eros.Commenting at the acquisition, Sunil Lulla, Managing Director, Eros International Media Ltd said, “With Maatraan, Eros continues to explore and establish its presence within the regional film markets.
The film promises to be certainly one of its kind action thrillers and we're happy to go along with AGS Entertainment Private Limited to release this much awaited film with the hugely popular Suriya”.Kalpathi S. Aghoram, Director, AGS Entertainment the producers of the film added, “There exists an enormous potential for AGS Entertainment and Eros International to synergize given our experience in Tamil film production and their global presence with content spread across most leading Indian languages”.
Maatran has Suriya, Kajal Aggarwal within the lead and is directed by KV Anand with music by Harris Jayaraj. It's some of the biggest movies of 2012. Maatran is slated for release on 15th August 2012.
