Kumki Music User Review – Taking It Forward From Mynaa

The following review is by a user and isn't IndiaGlitz's take towards anyone or anything. Written by Ramesh Ganapathy

Kumki Music User Review - Taking It Forward From Mynaa

Prabhu Solomon's next - 'Kumki' features Vikram Prabhu, son of thespian Sivaji Gaensan within the lead. The music launch saw big guns Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan and with them came numerous hype for the soundtrack. After the success of Mynaa, Prabhu Solomon joined hands with D Imman another time for the music of Kumki, as a way to tell the tale a couple of mahout. You get 7 songs with the album and three karaokes, a few of which prove to be an actual treat.

Yella Oorum - Benny Dayal, D Imman

The album opens with "Yella Oorum", an obvious opening/introduction song that grows on you with every listen. A MIX of people and a few more modern compositions, it has an excellent vibe going about it. The percussions within the track are very rural and are occasionally heavy between the lines. A FAIR job by the blending team makes the song sound much more prominent, especially the guitar pieces.

Benny Dayal who has quite a lot of numbers to his name adds another versatile song to the list. His vocals are backed up by Imman's hums that seem as small interludes in a brief song. Though it runs for nearly 2 and half minutes, it does leave an even impression on you way to the lines by Yugabharathi and Benny.

Onnum Puriyala - D Imman

This one is a bit of slower when put next to the opposite tracks and is derived out a tragic song (probably our hero sulking over his lady love). Not dwelling at the form of sing it is, it's worth a listen because it keeps jumping between pacey and sulky within the song. The "kuthu-like" beats provide the song its high points, rather then which it is vitally too very similar to love failure songs for our liking.

Perhaps a many people haven't heard Imman singing. That's why when he comes up with the sort of melodious and sad song, you might be left wondering if he's an even singer. While his singing does have you ever clinging and hoping for something great, the lyrics don't help him and we will be able to must look ahead to another chance. It falls wanting soul stirring.

Nee Eppo Pulla Solla Pora - Alphonse Joseph

Underlining the features of this song in entirety is very difficulty, for it hosts some folky, guitar backed, off-beat or even a couple of rock like sections in it. However, Imman has found himself a pattern that may be working for him with Kumki - most emotional lines with string chords, the emphatic ones with greater than usual percussion and continuous drama with the guitar. Starts with just the vocals and develops right into a casual song.

Alphonse Joseph can hit some really high tones and his range is unmatched. But as opposed to going all out with them, Imman has taken a more conservative approach and makes him sing in his normal tone for many the song. When required, he gets back your focus with probably the most magic we saw in Aaromale. The lyrics also are highlighted by his voice. Before you add everything up, you know that you're being attentive to an excellent and unique song.

Ayyayyo Aananthamey - Haricharan (MUST-LISTEN)

Melody and fast-packed percussion don't usually go hand in hand. This one however packs the most efficient of both world and is among the best songs I'VE seen Imman get a hold of. As you as you begin listening, you're supplied with an orchestration of strings, that is carried during the song with the addition of few more instruments. They string pieces continue in between the lines, in conjunction with the piano.

Haricharan's voice resonates with every note he ushers, low or high, and his transitions almost make you are feeling as joyous because the singer. Yugabharathi's lyrics, delivered to life by Imman's music full of good orchestrations show sings of being poetic and easy on the same time, and has an excessively southern touch to it. The hole of the song and the string piece (with a scale change) add a large number of merit to the track. An instant hit!

A Lady and the Violin - Aditi Paul, Karthik (Violin)

A softer and subtler version of Ayyayyo Aananthamey, Imman does well in differentiating masculine and female feelings with this track. MOST OF THE string pieces are replaced by the chorus, which does well in providing balance, especially with the song lacking one of the vital punch that came with Haricharan's voice. The percussions hence appear much more prominent whenever they arrive up.

Aditi Paul fits into the missing a part of the puzzle and shares the lead with Karthik who plays the Violin. While one of the most lines are taken up by the violin pieces, the lines which can be actually sung seem to be the most productive ones. Somehow, Yugabharathi's lyrics appear much more traditional (after all, it is a girl singing, they're always classy aren't they?) in comparison to the unique song. Some may like it to Haricharan's version as it has more melody to it.

Sollitaaley Ava Kaadhala - K.J.Ranjith, Shreya Ghoshal

Following within the steps of Mynaa, Imman shoots out another duet melody so as to make its mark with Kumki. Sollitaaley Ava Kaadhala sounds very similar to "Ayyayyo" from Aadukalam or "Machaan Machaan" from Silambaatam. Flute instrumentals and chorus throughout accompany the song. The percussion have been heard a ton of times before with several duets. The interludes (especially the only after stanza one) impresses with some change in music and addition chorus support.

Ranjith and Shreya Ghoshal don their voices for Sollitaaley and add to the track's soulfulness. While Ranjith's low notes and melodies make significant impact, Shreya goes out and delivers another great rendition. Even supposing they share a large number of lines, she manages to get probably the most heartfelt ones. The lyrics, for a metamorphosis are old-fashioned and it'll be hard to guess if the lead cast how the hero and heroine are dancing, in the event that they do this is rather like( from the 80s).

Soi Soi - Magizhini Manimaaran

Folk, kuthu, tribal, whatever you can also call it, songs like Soi Soi are always gonna involve a large number of drumming (and what else?). However, Imman has experimented around with this song, especially with the horns. Maintaining the beat inside the song, some chords are very prominent and provides you mixed feelings in regards to the song - one that reminds you that you've got feet and also you rarely use it to bounce and another which makes you ponder if the song has a deeper meaning.

Magizhini Manimaaran sings Soi Soi like a village festival song. Yugabharathi's line characterizes the character of the song - few lines of lyrics that experience the similar tune and are repeated within the song. The gaps get filled by a distinct from of tribal music every occasion and when the song involves a wrap, what you could have a listing of statements (maybe advice) from a girl who's either super- wise or is attempting to get some attention.

To sum all of it up, Kumki is filled with enjoyable music. People may be paying attention to a large number of "Ayyayyo Aananthamey" when the movie comes out. It has the entire makings of having into the highest charts. Meanwhile, the remainder of the tracks aren't bad in any respect and offer so much for listeners. "Yella Oorum", "Nee Eppo Pulla" and "Sollitaaley Ava Kaadhala" are all good numbers. With the discharge o

Ice Age Continental Drift User Review – Dont forget to take the children!

The following review is by a user and isn't IndiaGlitz's take towards anyone or anything. Written by Ramesh Ganapathy

Ice Age Continental Drift User Review - Be sure to take the kids!

The Ice Age brand is renowned for its industry class animation and storylines that has numerous humor. When you've got a few kids at home who aren't letting you watch TV anymore, you most likely want to take them to the most recent addition to the series, Ice Age Continental Drift. You won't only get to peer them laugh out loud, but may also end up entertained on several occasions.

With every new Ice Age movie, Manny (Ray Romano), Diego (Denis Leary) and Sid (John Leguizamo) embark on a brand new adventure. Recently, Ellie (Queen Latifah), Manny's Mammoth wife also joined the crowd. As usual, the audiences are provided a sequence of chaotic events at the earth, which result in a fun-packed plot, while some aspects of the story are supposed to be thrilling. The Continent Drift continues within the same line and packs some super-funny scenes.

This time, because the name suggests, the land around the earth split up and drifts apart separating Manny and gang from Ellie and daughter Peaches. All of the story is all about them finding their as far back as their world. Through their journey, they arrive across more interesting characters - a bunch of sea pirates (animals, of course), chipmunks that dance, a white tiger or even an old granny. What you get consequently is more action sequences, perhaps probably the most within the Ice Age series.   Ray Romano as Manny isn't any doubt the lead character within the movie. He is taking up a large number of time on screen and although not funny, adds much more emotional value to the script. Diego, whose voice is rendered by Denis Leary the fierce and agile Saber, takes his usual role, delivering dialogues in an excessively subtle and occasional voice. However, the man who's gonna make you laugh essentially the most is Sid, who's dropped at life by John Leguizamo. The volume of humor he brings into every scene is rather remarkable and is an instant hit with a wide variety of audiences.

A couple of the brand new characters within the movie, are played by Peter Dinklage (who won a Golden Globe with Game of Thrones) and Jennifer Lopez. It has become common enough for directors to name out celebrity actors and lead them to part of an animation movie. When you might imagine this does not matter, they carry uniqueness to the nature and lead them to unique (Robin Williams and Happy Feet, great example).

Watch " Ice Age (4): Continental Drift" Trailer

Mike Thurmeir who have been part of the animation team within the first two Ice Age flicks and who co-directed The Dawn of the Dinosaurs has taken the same role as his previous venture. Steve Martino within the director's seat joins him. Michael Berg has get a hold of the screenplay again. Going out with an analogous team, they have got delivered another animation flick that provides value to Ice Age. But one wonders how long they are going to be capable of go on making such movies; they appear to be running out of interesting plots. However, the animations and effects does seam to recuperating as things are looking so much cooler in 3D.

Overall, the Continental Drift has its high points when even the old find themselves entertained. The characters are still great and supply numerous entertainment at the big screen.

Rating - 3/5 - Reasonably stuff but no real background plot

Verdict - the youngsters will love it, you'll watch it once

A Chennai court has extended the interim stay order against Vijay's upcoming film 'Thupaki' till August 1. The order was issued on a petition filed by the makers of a film titled 'Kalla Thupaki'.

When the case came up for hearing, the town civil court passed the order since Film Chamber of Commerce and Cinema and television Producers Guild requested time to reply.

The allegation against the makers of 'Thupaki' by those of 'Kalla Thupaki' was that the latter had registered the title 'Kalla Thupaki' in 2009 itself.

"However, using the influence of Vijay's father and Tamil Film Producers Council president S A Chandrasekhar, the producers of Vijay's next venture had registered the title Thupaki against the principles and regulations," they alleged.

The court sought the views of Film Chamber and Producers Guild before passing an order and granted an interim stay. Since they've sought time, the case have been pushed to August 1.

Mugamoodi User Review – Promise in the beginning sight

The following review is by a user and isn't IndiaGlitz's take towards anyone or anything. Written by Ramesh Ganapathy

Mugamoodi Music Review - Promise to start with sight

Mugamoodi will make an attempt at bringing the Tamil audience to peer superhero movies. Directed by Mysskin, it is easy to expect so much from the movie and the soundtrack to have only a few songs. Taking place the similar path, Mugamoodi has 4 songs and seven instrumentals. One surprising thing that's missing is an item using, wherein Mysskin usually includes a damsel clad in a yellow-saree.

A closer have a look at the soundtrack goes a ways in revealing a couple of aspects of the movie. Does the music have enough credibility to assist take off a superhero movie? Let's have a look.

Vaayamoodi Summa Iru Da

Singers: Aalap Raju

Lyrics: Madhan Karky

Standing out from the remainder of the album, this one has numerous stuff going right about it. K cleverly uses the Guitar and Violin to provide the track an excessively smooth and dreamy feel. When you pay attention, it is possible for you to to note that at one point you're hearing the lead at the side of some guitar chords, and right after it switches over to a chorus backed up by some really melodious violin pieces. Although one of the most same chords are found inside the song, you need to appreciate K mixing things up.

Aalap Raju has get a hold of numerous melodies for Harris Jayaraj and is asking set to become the following Harish Raghavendra. His voice holds all the song together and his low notes are as gorgeous as always. Madhan Karky, who has penned for just two songs in Mugamoodi, has given it the modern-day love lines. While it's not radically new, you'll be able to compare it to the duets from the 80s and realize how a lot more focus is at the feelings of the singer (as opposed to praising the beauty, the character and what not of the obviously pretty heroine)

Vaayamoodi Summa Iru Da - Guitar Version

Singers: Aalap Raju

Lyrics: Madhan Karky

Once you've got heard the unique song, you most likely got content with it and decided that it was the song of the album. But before you write off the track with the similar name, it's a must to remember the fact that it isn't a remix. In fact, it's almost the similar song except some subtle changes. Take out all the violin bits from the unique track; add more guitar pieces and what you get is a rather better version.

Mayaavi

Singers: Chinmayi

Lyrics: Madhan Karky

K reminds us of the music he composed for Yuddham Sei with Mayaavi, a composition as dark and maybe having some as enigmatic because the sequences we've seen in typical Mysskin movies from the past. His orchestration of the song, the usage of percussion and particularly the strings reminds you Ilayaraja's work from the 90s. The piano appears every so often amidst the beats and adds more depth to the track. The interlude after the primary stanza stands proud within the entire song.

Chinmayi lends her voice for this one and is derived out of her usual winning ways of singing super-hit duets. A solo, yet alone one filled with a large number of percussion and desperation may be very different indeed. Karky's lyrics mark numerous seriousness and sorrow within the song. Seems like the heroine goes to have trouble winning over her superhero.

Kudi Vazhthu - The Bar Anthem

Singers: Mysskin

Lyrics: Mysskin

I am not a large fan of songs sung by the drunk. Honestly, in recent times, a large number of directors (and a few music directors) have arise numerous such songs. First, they all shape up because a woman has tousled with the hero's life. Second, the hero is often sad or angry while singing (sometimes both). Sometimes, even one or two friends of the hero team up with him and share his sorrow (God knows for that dumb reason).

Fortunately, Mysskin's portrayal of drunkards is very unique. For starters, there is not any sadness involved like we saw with "Kannadhasan Karakudi". With Kudi Vazhthu, his voice is not any longer low but still, the alcohol's wisdom resonates everywhere. In a party of "bodhai", Mysskin has get a hold of another track that has numerous promise, simply because of the lyrics. The violin involves the rescue of K and keeps things in check.

Instrumentals and Themes (Sorted by track length - longer to shorter)

Don't Drive Your Car With This Music On - Weird name, so is the music. It begins in a undeniable pace or even throughout the entire track retains the similar beat, the urgency is lost with each passing second. Trumpets, trombones, the electronic piano, violin or even some flute interludes has been spilled all over the place it. Come Let's Fall in Love - Same as Vaayamoodi Summa Iru Da. SO MUCH have been spoken about this composition already. Here, the lead voice have been replaced with a soft piano. Funny how things never seemed as romantic when it had that funny name far and wide it.

Mayaavi Instrumental - Same desperation seen within the original track, but somewhat more appealing way to the Flute, which have been used throughout. Retains some of the same instrument work, but this one seems to be much more of a cry. Likely to be utilized in the film.

Cape Of fine Hope - We will see some retro-ish compositions blend with a couple of modern-day ideologies on this one. Orchestrations do a fair job of reminding you of the music of yesteryears and a few flanges and phase-outs usher in some modernity to the track. Very limited use of percussion and doubtless probably the most unique track within the album.

Lullaby for Loss - The one track some of the instrumentals that comes just about stirring you when listened to in a silent room (I'M playing it for the third time in a row, sitting alone in a gloomy room). Playback with the piano, some touches with the clarinet (maybe the trumpet too?) are scattered around the entire piece.

Hell, Heaven and The Ladder - A track which starts slowly with a single string background which eventually has many other musical notes superimposing on top of one another. Continues to expire with the similar tempo within the same soft manner.

Blue Panther At the Prowl - Bond-style techno chase beat that reminds you of a few of the compositions from other superhero movies. The trumpet takes the lead because the base plays within the background. May well be too short for a chase sequence.

The instrumentals will do an excellent job of mixing into the movie. I WILL see each of them matching a scenario in a film where the hero wears a cape. They certainly do an even job of maintaining Mysskin's brand. Dark, subtle and turning your focus onto the screen, they are going to play a large role in Mugamoodi.

K was handed an analogous job again after Yuddham Sei with much more of the focal point obviously at the screenplay. But with the little room that he had throughout the three standard film songs, he has shown that he also does an even job when aske

Hailstorm affects Irandam Ulagam! Anushkas dates goes for a toss?

Irandam Ulagam starring Arya and Anushka is Georgia bound. However the place is affected badly with hailstorms leaving the entire place with broken trees and really little sun light. The team is operating round-the-clock to somehow finish the schedule in there.

"The shooting schedule of Irandam Ulagam in Georgia needed to be extended because of the weather conditions there. Because the cast and crew of the film, including Anushka, were stationed within the abroad country, the schedule of Alex Pandian was delayed," say sources.

Remember the pretty lady plays female lead in both these films.

However, circles with regards to Anushka have denied this, stating that things are taking shape as per schedule. Also, those with reference to Selvaraghavan too said the director was not at all connected with the 'delay' of 'Alex Pandian'.

Two songs in 'Alex Pandian' are pending to be canned. 'Alex Pandian' is scheduled for a large release on October 12.

The Dark Knight Rises – User review

The following review is by a user and isn't IndiaGlitz's take towards anyone or anything. Written by Ramesh Ganapathy The Dark Knight Rises Review - A finale of epic proportions

How do you are making a sequel to 'The Dark Knight' - a film that etched itself into the center of millions and established Chris Nolan's Batman (nobody else's, when you may ask) because the most brilliantly portrayed comic character in history?

Sequels are always preceded by hype, especially when fans are gearing up for a grand finale within the trilogy. It happens every time, no doubt, adore it did with the Pirates of the Caribbean, the Lord of the Rings and the Matrix. But, the things that went into The Dark Knight Rises were of various proportions. Not just had Nolan grounded Batman and taken him as regards to the actual world, but he also setup successive screenplays that made people (even one of the most most picky critics) forget that the series was in line with a comic book character. And despite everything, when July 20 arrived, it did speak for itself, quite eloquently. The Dark Knight Rises is definitely the most efficient finale you will have asked for as a fan, as simply put, it manages to live as much as its name. It begins in fabulous fashion, eight years after the unique tale. Batman, when you remember, has taken the blame for Harvey Dent's murder and entire lot of different crimes when the curtains came down. Taking the tale from there allows the director to work around changes to the ecosystem and convey in new characters which can be critical.  As you're reminded of the intricacies of Gotham, you might be supplied with a chain of action-packed super-villainy gadget-drooling experiences that stands proud from movies just like the Avengers. Chris Nolan appears to be the lone crusader of Hollywood at the moment as producers demand increasingly commercialism of their movies. Sadly, a few of this seems to have rubbed off on our man (even on him!). The tale and its brilliance aren't questionable of course, but a few of Nolan's means leaves him bare-chested against critics (including me, sometimes) as they ponder around for flaws.  While The Dark Knight Rises is the epitome of "logically commercialized" cinema, inconsistencies and flaws are natural for a film of such epic proportions and will be easily forgiven by even essentially the most stubborn movie-watchers. Even his not so rabbit-out-of-the-hat tricks are unparalleled and deserve amazing praise.

Tom Hardy as Bane is what I THINK must be mentioned next. In all fairness, he's no Heath Ledger and Bane isn't any Joker. Nolan had clearly stated that he wouldn't be using Joker anytime again, out of respect for a person who won an unprecedented academy award, and likewise portrayed probably the most kick-ass villain in modern-day cinema (maybe Hannibal Lecter, if not?). Bane isn't Joker, but for what he lacks in personality, he makes up in screen presence and character detailing. It's hard to play a person wearing a mask, especially person who has such a lot occurring about him, in a narrative where he's not the protagonist. And that's the reason exactly what Tom Hardy has done, together with his "who-cares" dialogues which can be yet very un-omniscient. Thunderous strength and subtle short statements work rather well for him. If not for Bane, I DON'T see this plot shaping up and the minor hiccups would have caused all the film to fail miserably.  After all, what is the point of getting a Batman movie with no super villain? Christian Bale, as Bruce Wayne, comes next. Sure, he plays the cape crusader and "he's the hero Gotham deserves", but he isn't the one one holding things up for The Dark Knight brand. Playing a personality that have been very subdued even for Batman standards, Bale has done his usual job quite well. On this movie, he was called upon to perform a little more stuff, and we get to look some different sides of Bruce Wayne - an aspect which isn't so used to failing, a facet that makes him helpless against odds and an aspect that introduces him to true fear (not Crane's fear-in-a-can). This brings out one of the vital better aspects of Bale's acting and shows how far Nolan is willing to visit make his move not all about Batman, the fighter. In a stunning and never seen before way, Batman gets a brand new faces to present him comapny this time around, with the exception of the standard faces of Alfred (Michael Caine), Fox (Morgan Freeman) and Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman). New characters of police office Blake (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), Selina Kyle (Anne Hathaway), Miranda Tate (Marion Coutillard) and some more add weight to the storyline that requires much more action than before. Unlike usual star-studded blockbusters, Nolan has managed to mess around all his characters and provides enough detailing to they all. Hence, you don't feel the movie losing the grip at any point even if Batman isn't beating up bad-guys and Bane isn't marching together with his army. Hans Zimmer has spilled himself all around the Dark Knight Rises. His dark, enigmatic scores with beat changes, phase outs and god-knows much more capture the audience and keeps them glued to their seats. Essentially the most emphatic and the most efficient scenes within the film are accompanied by some truly mind-blowing music. He has definitely stamped his authority at the Batman brand. If anything, the SFX team deserves to be applauded for keeping the film from changing into Sci-Fi. The most efficient part is, it does have numerous sequences that decision for help from them, but as a result of their enormous effort, even probably the most unbelievable chases are realistic of their own way and has fans voluntarily cheer out loud on multiple occasions (no kidding!)

Finally, the movie has a large number of smaller highlights. The dialogues are hundreds funnier and catchier than the former movies. Just whilst you think you might have the plot figured, Nolan throws out turns and blows you away. Minor details everywhere make your jaw drop (I probably need to see the movie many more times to identify everything).  Michael Caine deserves credit for delivering essentially the most heartfelt dialogues.  The list just goes on and on and on. The Dark Knight Rises is a blockbuster (obviously), but isn't any normal blockbuster. Despite some gaping holes within the plot, half-a-dozen far-stretched SFX effects, few overly cinematic sequences and a mammoth playing length of two hours and 47 minutes, it'd be highly unfair to take anything clear of Nolan, for he has produced yet one more masterpiece. The movie provides entertainment of the Supreme Order and offers you Goosebumps when credits start rolling. While driving back home, many will feel desperately sad after watching the final Batman movie that mattered. Rating - 4.5/5 - for making deserving finale.Verdict - the tip of an era of an exhilarating action-packed era. A film buff?
