Veteran romance star Rajesh Khanna not more

Bollywood's superstar and previous romance icon of 70s Rajesh Khanna has passed on to the great beyond today. The veteran actor was admitted in hospital frequently past few months as a result of his ailing health. It was only couple of days ago, that Khanna was brought back to his home from Leelavati Hospital (Mumbai) once you have treated for low blood pressure. Rajesh Khanna, 69, left for heavenly abode amidst the presence of his ex-wife Dimple Kapadia, daughters Rinkie and Twinkle, son-in-law Akshay Kumar and other family members. According to Akshay, the funeral could be held tomorrow (Thursday). It was only this month that B-town lost another veteran actor and eminent wrestler Dara Singh, who's known for his Hanuman role in TV serial 'Ramayan'. Known as India's first superstar, Rajesh Khanna was said to be some of the highest paid actors of seventies and has a fantastic record of getting consecutive solo super hits. While he debuted in cine world with 'Aakhri Khat', Rajesh Khanna's filmography shines with successful movies like 'Aradhana', 'Amar Prem', 'Anand', 'Prem Kahani', 'Kati Patang' and 'Do Raaste' among others. Not just performances, his films also remembered for having remarkable, melodies songs. Kaka (as he's popularly called) is noted for his typical style, mannerism and smile that have been aped by one and all, actors and picture buffs alike. While Indian cinema might be down, mourning over the demise of this kind of legendary star, you possibly can only imagine Rajesh Khanna saying his famous 'Amar Prem' dialogue - "Rupa aaee Rupa, I hate tears, re" May his soul rest in peace...
