Ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam who's known for his affinity towards the God's own country, Kerala, is shooting probably the most scenes from his forthcoming 'Kadal' in there currently.
The team was, until recently, shooting in rapid speed on the coastal regions of Tamil Nadu including Tiruchendur. They then left to Kerala and canned scenes within the backwaters of Kochi, Alapuzha, Kottayam and Mohamma.
The film features Gautham Karthik and Samantha within the lead roles with Arjun, Aravind Swamy, Lakshmi Manchu, Thambi Ramiah, Lal and Pasupathy in pivotal roles. Recently Aravind Swamy injured his hand throughout the shoot of the film.
Music is by Isai Puyal AR Rahman, after all. The film is red hot in trade although there are not any big names within the lead, as it's an out and out romantic entertainer by Mani and Rahman. Gemini is claimed to be eyeing at the theatrical rights of this project.
