Kavithalaya, the famed production house backed by ace filmmaker K Balachander, is planning to remake two evergreen movies of the director- 'Thillu Mullu' and 'Manmadha Leelai'.
While 'Thillu Mullu' had Superstar Rajinikanth within the lead role, 'Manmadha Leelai' had 'Ulaga Nayagan' Kamal Haasan because the protagonist. Both were blockbusters once they hit the screens.
According to Balachander's daughter Pushpa Kandasamy, "WE'RE in talks with one of the most top directors to remake these films. The fundamental theme may be retained, however the scripts might be reworked to the current trend."
She adds: "Both Thillu Mullu and Manmadha Leelai are trend setters. Their themes are evergreen and fit to be made as fresh films. Hence we're engaged on them at present."
