Sun Pictures have decided to opt out of the selling of PVP Cinemas Rajapattai, creating shock waves within the industry. Sembian Sivakumar who heads Sun Pictures has confirmed that they're going to not be marketing the film. Sun Pictures had bought the rights for Rajapattati, that's produced by PVP Cinemas. Sun officials couldn’t be reached for his or her comments.
An industry source said, “They might need found it difficult to seek out distributors and opted out of the movie.” Recently, some theatre owners had protested against Sun Pictures, demanding it repay them deposit refunds for four movies including the Rajini-starrer Endhiran. “Now PVP cinemas need to discover a new distributor or they need to go ahead and market the movie themselves,” the source added.
Rajapattai is a large budget film across the issue of land grabbing. The movie is estimated to be around Rs 40 crore, the costliest Vikram movie till date. Rajapattai Vikram and Deeksha Seth within the lead and is directed by Suseenthiran. It's an all out action entertainer, with music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Currently the unit is shooting two songs in Italy. Three glam girls Shriya Saran, Reema Sen and Saloni are there for additonal glamour.
