It's official! Lingusamy can be making his B-town debut by remaking his hit 'Vettai', a 2012 Pongal offering in Tamil cinema that featured Madhavan and Arya. Now it's said that Shahid Kapoor might be essaying the lead role (that of Arya's) within the Hindi version!
Remaking Tamil films has become a fad up north and is being followed by all first class actors to boot. Lingusamy might be directing the Hindi version to boot and the film will go on floors shortly. It's said that the Tamil film was screened for Shahid Kapoor recently and the actor gave his nod for this commercial entertainer.
In fact, it's further said that Shahid Kapoor rescheduled his dates to slot in this film. A hunt is on by the makers for the second one lead, essayed by R Madhavan aka Maddy within the original. The actor played a timid police official and the elder brother of Arya.
'Vettai' is ready two brothers and two sisters who fall for each other and is a high voltage action entertainer loaded with romance, comedy and sentiment.
