Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who was in Chennai on Friday to wait the 76th Foundation Day of Odisha, honoured maestro Ilayaraja within the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
While Jayalalithaa honoured Aruna Mohanty, renowned Odissi dancer, and Sudarshan Patnaik, sand sculpture specialist, her Odisha counterpart felicitated Ilayaraja and veteran playback singer Vani Jayaram.
The two Chief Ministers shared some lighter moments with Ilayaraja, who's fondly refered as Isaignani. Additionally they laid the root stone of the Odisha Bhavan, in an effort to arise in Velachery in Chennai.
Receiving the primary copy of a souvenir published by the Utkal Association of Madras from Jayalalithaa, Naveen Patnaik pointed out how the 2 States occupied places of pride within the country and noted their glorious traditions within the fields of art, music and dance.
