The filing of nominations for Pudukottai by-election, which was scheduled for June 12, saw a brand new twist on Monday, when the district secretary of Rajinikanth Fans Association Sridhar filed his nomination papers.
Sridhar, who's an ardent fan of the Superstar and related to the fans association since 1983, announced that he was contesting on behalf of Rajinikanth fans organization. However, he said he was yet to tell the top office about his decision.
"If Thalaivar and the headquarters support me, I MIGHT sure win the polls," said Sridhar, recalling that folks and fans have been looking forward to a very long time for the political entry of the Superstar. "WE'VE GOT been finishing up numerous social services here," he said.
Parties just like the DMK, MDMK, Congress, CPI(M), CPI BJP, PMK and VCK had announced that they wouldn't contest the by-election, while AIADMK and DMDK had fielded candidates. The bypoll was necessitated following the death of CPI MLA Muthukumaran in a road mishap recently.
