National Award winners speak to IG

The 59th National Awards were announced today and 3 Tamil films, 'Vaagai Sooda Vaa', 'Aaranya Kandam' and 'Azhagarsamiyin Kuthirai' have sure made us proud by bagging these prestigious awards.

Says Thiagarajan Kumaraja who won the most productive Debut Film By A Director for his neo-noir film 'Aaranya Kandam', "I'm disappointed as I ASSUMED Yuvan Shankar Raja and our cinematographer will win this award, however I'm happy and that i thank my assistant directors who've helped me throughout".

SPB Charan who produced this venture says, "I'm honored! It hasn't even sunk in yet and that is our first National Award. I congratulate my team who've made us proud".

The film also bagged the most productive Editing Award and Praveen KL, the editor, says, "WE'RE really happy for this award! A recognition a good way to motivate us to provide more films like this! Not only for us it is usually a triumph for Tamil cinema on the national level".

Suseenthiran who directed 'Azhagarsamiyin Kuthirai' that won two awards (Best Supporting Actor & Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment Award) says, "Initially after I started a movie with Appukuty I got such negative feedback but I USED TO BE so pleased with the product. I'M happier with this than with the success I received from Vanilla Kabadi Kullu, because we didn't expect anything while doing this project. A DIFFERENT way to our producer Madhan. I GET continuous calls and there is no telling to how elated I am".

Director Sargunam whose 'Vaagai Sooda Vaa' received the most productive Film award is meeting the clicking and was unavailable for a comment.
