Legendary music composer M S Viswanathan's wife Janaki Viswanathan gave up the ghost at an individual hospital in Chennai on Monday evening. She was 74 and is survived by her husband, three daughters and 4 sons.
Janaki was a pillar of support to her husband, who ruled Tamil film music till the early 1980s. In line with family sources, she was affected by kidney ailment and was admitted within the hospital. She passed on to the great beyond at 4.15 pm Monday (May 14).
The body may be kept on the Santhome residence till Tuesday. Funeral may also be hung on the similar day, sources said. Many Kollywood personalities have expressed condolence over the death of Janaki.
Viswanathan, fondly called as MSV, is chargeable for many evergreen hit songs of Tamil cinema, especially those from movies starring MGR and Sivaji Ganesan.
