Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and numerous personalities from Kollywood on Tuesday condoled the death of veteran actress SN Lakshmi, and recalled her service to the industry for plenty of decades.
In a statement, the executive Minister said her death was an excellent loss to the film world. A recipient of the state government's 'Kalaimamani' and 'Kalaiselvam' awards, Lakshmi acted in additional than 1,500 films and 6,000 dramas, she recalled.
Several film stars thronged her house at Saligramam in Chennai to pay respects. The last rites are expected to be hung on Tuesday in her native Virudhunagar district.
Lakshmi, known for taking part in mother and grandmother roles in lots of movies, kicked the bucket early Monday because of a heart attack. She was 85. She had acted with a variety of actors from MGR, Sivaji Ganesan, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan to Ajith and Vijay.
