Naan Ee to release on June 8!

The release of ace Tollywood filmmaker SS Rajamouli's bilingual venture 'Naan Ee' have been delayed as a result of extended special effects works. The movie was originally slated to hit the screens on May 30 but has now been pushed to June 8. The film starring Nani, Samantha and Kananda actor Sudeep in lead roles is being made simultaneously in Telugu as 'Eega'.

"For every film enthusiast available in the market who have been looking forward to Eega (Naan Ee), I apologize as we're not releasing on 30th of this month. I DO KNOW it's disappointing. I'M disappointed myself. We underestimated the volume of time for special effects. I'M extremely pleased with the standard of special effects for the shots we received so far," says SS Rajamouli.

He added: "I WOULD LIKE to make sure the similar quality is maintained for the remaining. People are working 24/7 to get the film out once possible." A socio-fantasy flick, 'Naan Ee' is a mixture of comedy, romance and revenge. It's produced by PVP Cinema.

Make way for Kalakalappu sequel!

Precisely ten days after the discharge of 'Kalakalappu' the makers have decided that the laugh riot will see a sequel, way to massive response from audience from all centers. 'Kalakalappu' released on May 11 and was declared a hit.

Produced by UTV Motion Pictures, 'Kalakalappu' is the 25th directorial venture of Sundar C and stars Vimal, Shiva, Anjali, Oviya and Santhanam within the lead roles with Illavarasu and Panju Subbu in pivotal roles.

The sequel could be produced by UTV Movies and can be feature the similar actors with direction by Sundar C again. It is going to go on floors in October as Sundar C is currently busy with 'Madha Gaja Raja' with Vishal and Karthika Nair. The film sees Vishal in three different roles. 'Kalakalappu' is predicated on two brothers and a family business that they run with interesting twists till the very end.

A discussion on Vazhakku En 18/9

Tamil Nadu Thiraippada Iyakkunar Sangam, the apex organization of directors in Kollywood, organized a discussion on 'Vazhakku En 18/9', a movie helmed by Balaji Shakthivel, under the subject 'alternative cinema'.

Many top filmmakers, including Balu Mahendra, K Bhagyaraj, Ameer, S P Jananathan, Lingusamy (the producer of 'Vazhakku En 18/9'), Balaji Shakthivel, Sasi and Samuthirakani took part. Popular writer S Ramakrishnan was also present.

Speaking at the occasion, Bhagyaraj said directors should come forward to launch a signature movement, urging the Censor officials to revise the U/A certificate given to 'Vazhakku En...' to U. "A request on this regard should be made to the executive Minister," he said.

"I wonder how this film was certified U/A. The director and producer of this movie must have argued with Censor authorities," the actor-director said, adding: "Officials should be aware of the intention of the scenes before certifying a film."

3 together with 3 Tamil films to be screened in The big apple

Four Tamil films was chosen to be screened on the renowned Big apple Indian Film Festival that's scheduled to happen from May 23 to May 27. Out of the four films, two are Dhanush starrers.

'3' directed by Aishwarya Dhanush starring Dhanush and Shruti Haasan may not have pleased the entire centers of audience however the film continues to make headlines and was chosen for this festival.

The fest can even see the screening of another Dhanush film, 'Aadukalam' by Vetrimaaran that swept several National Awards and was much acclaimed by critics. Another National Award winning film, 'Azhagarsamiyin Kuthirai', directed by Suseenthiran might be screened. 'Varnam' by SM Raju has also been chosen for the brand new York Indian Film Festival.

Buzz is that Aishwarya Dhanush could be leaving for brand spanking new York tonight (May 21) but Dhanush may not be accompanying her as he's busy shooting for his Bollywood debut, 'Raanjhana' directed by Aanand L Rai of 'Tanu Weds Manu' fame.

Siddharth is Nakuls villain

Siddharth will cross swords with Nakul in 'Vallinam', the second one directorial venture of 'Eeram' fame Arivazhagan. No, this isn't the 'Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhi Eppadi' Siddharth who shared the screen space with Nakul in Shankar's 'Boys', but a Tollywood actor with the similar name.

"Many are becoming confused as a result of similarity within the names. The Siddharth acting in my film is the one that shot to fame in Tollywood with a film titled LBW," says Arivazahgan.

He adds: "We were searching for a suave youngster with spoilt brat looks and Siddharth fit the bell. He have been giving a powerful performance. The film is taking shape well. The shooting gets over next month."

Nakul plays a basketball player on this movie, which has Atul Kulkarni in a pivotal role. Thaman S is the music composer and plans are directly to shoot a few songs within the scenic locales of Goa.

Sun TV bags satellite rights of Thadaiyara Thaakka

Sun TV has bagged the satellite rights of Arun Vijay's forthcoming 'Thadaiyara Thaakka' for an undisclosed huge sum. Also joining the TT team is Media One, producer of Rajini starrer 'Kochadaiyaan'. They're releasing the film worldwide.

Two big names being related to the film has made the movie quite hot within the trade. 'Thadaiyara Thaakka' is being produced by Feather Touch Entertainments.

Starring Arun Vijay and Mamta Mohandas, the movie is helmed by Magizh Thirumeni of 'Mundhinam Parthene' fame. It has music by Thaman S who has delivered promising tracks including a kuthu number that has already topped the charts. The film is entirely shot in Chennai and has several scenes canned throughout the nights, because of the script that demands some thrilling high voltage action scenes.

I WILL BE ABLE TO do Spanish film: Prabhu Deva

Prabhu Deva has said he could even direct a Spanish film if he was supplied with an even team. "A POWERFUL team is very important than anything. So long as it's fine, we will even make a Spanish movie," he says.

The choreographer-actor, who's now busy as a director, can have the discharge of his Hindi film 'Rowdy Rathore' soon. A remake of 'Siruthai', it has Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha because the lead pair.

"Rowdy Rathore is a full-length commercial movie, but with a difference. The Hindi version comes with some value additions," Prabhu Deva says, adding: "Both Akshay and Sonakshi are great performers."

Prabhu's last venture in Bollywood is 'Wanted', a Salman Khan starrer, that is an action film. The director says he now desires to try his hands at horror genre. "I MIGHT care to do a mystery movie," he adds.
