Viswaroopam first look soon?

Silence was the one reaction from Kamal Haasan, though so much was written about his forthcoming magnum opus 'Viswaroopam'. But seems like the Ulaganayagan will break his golden silence soon.

If sources are to be believed, Kamal will soon release the primary look posters of 'Viswaroopam' and can share his experiences making the movie. "The shooting is sort of over," sources add.

Produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal International in association with PVP Cinema, 'Viswaroopam' is made at an estimated budget of Rs 150 crore. Kamal himself is wielding the megaphone.

There are two heroines- Andrea Jeremiah and Pooja Kumar- and Kamal is doing a couple of roles, including that of a terrorist. Music is by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, who earlier worked with Kamal in 'Aalavandan'.

Rahman: Music is a hiding place for me from reality

The name AR Rahman is a synonym to good music. But any idea what makes the music composer to consistently pop out with quality outputs for greater than twenty years? Well, Rahman himself has spilled the beans.

"Nature inspires me to compose good music. The good stuff in life, personalities inspire me. Then you definately realize what number of people want something different and need pure things, my music is for them," said Rahman.

The Oscar-Grammy winner said this in New Delhi recently, where he launched National Award winning sound engineer KJ Singh's independent album Asli Music.

"Many things drive good music. We're composing music for youth to return into theaters to look at the film, that music is serving a special purpose," Rahman said.

He added: "Music is a pleasant hiding place for me from reality; it helps me escape and be myself."

Vivek as hero in Machan

'Machan' is seemingly the favorite word of Namitha in Tamil. And Sakthi Chidambaram is the one that directed maximum selection of Namitha movies. So there is not any wonder in him naming his comeback film as 'Machan'.

The interesting thing in regards to the film is that it will have Vivek and Karunas, the 2 top comedians of Tamil cinema, as protagonists. And what more? Sakthi Chidambaram himself will play an important role.

"Machan is a comedy caper and that is the reason why I opted for Vivek and Karunas to play the lead roles, in preference to going for others. I'M happy to work with these two popular actors," says the director of 'Vyabari' and 'Sandai'.

Cheryl Pinto of 'Arasangam' and 'Vaa Da' fame will play the leading lady. Music can be scored by Srikanth Deva. "Shooting will start soon and it'll be completed on the earliest. Machan could be for everyone," adds the director.

Andrea Jeremiah In A Tete-A-Tete

The effervescent yet poised Andrea Jeremiah never fails to provoke her audience. Be it music lovers, theatre lovers or film patrons, audience have always hailed this actress. IndiaGlitz caught up together with her for a talk where she spills the beans on her forthcoming project Pudhiya Thirupangal, the social cause she strongly believes in and so much more...

Excerpts from the chat...

Three promising projects this year, Pudhiya Thirupangal, Viswaroopam and Vada Chennai, how do you feel?

I want more! Three films don't seem to be going to fulfill me. I'VE such a lot energy and ambition, and that i need to do a whole lot of challenging work within the years to come.

How did Pudhiya Thirupangal happen? Is there any difference working with a feminine filmmaker?

There is not any special way through which Pudhiya Thirupangal happened! The director approached me and gave me a narration, and that i liked it so I said yes. Simple as that! And dealing with Sharadha was wonderful, but as I've already said in previous interviews, male or female, what matters is whether or not the film-maker in question is in a position to delivering an even film.

You supposedly play an investigative journalist on this thriller. Are you able to let us know about your character?

Yes, I do play a journalist on this film. But let me leave the nature analysis to the film critics...

The film is predicted to be a turning point in yours and Nandha's careers...

I did enjoy working with Sharadha and Madhu Sir, and likewise a distinct mention to Rukmini who did the costumes. I loved being around some of these people, and they'll continue to stay dear friends to me all my life!

How is it love to work with Nandha?

Nanda is a certified. He comes prepared to the set, may be very polite to everyone, and is nice at what he does!

Pudhiya Thirupangal has a powerful social message; does the tale get preachy at any point?

Not when Sharadha is the director!! She is just too smart to permit this sort of thing to happen!

A social cause you personally support and wish to join a movie on it?

Children at the streets without a food, no clothes and most of all, no opportunities. That is what really saddens me. And yes, a movie called 'Slumdog Millionaire' was made at the subject. But has that modified the lives of children in the street? I DON'T BELIEVE so.

How did Viswaroopam happen? How is it love to work with the Ulaganayagan of Tamil cinema, especially you probably have the privilege of working with him as an actor and you're directed by him?

Again, no special way by which it happened. I USED TO BE approached, heard a temporary narration and clearly said yes to the film! Needless to say, it was fabulous to work with Kamal sir. He's probably the most legends of Indian cinema, so sharing space with him onscreen is something special.

Tell us about Vada Chennai. When will the shoot kick start? Do you play the second one lead? It'll be your first film set in North Madras.

I have no idea when shoot will start. No, I AM NOT playing the second one lead, it is a different roughly role altogether. And that i are not looking for to mention anything more in regards to the film until work actually begins.

A film that you just thoroughly enjoyed of late?

I missed some of the big movies previously year. But I did have the capacity to catch 'Deiva Thirumagal' on my flight and was really moved by it. I BELIEVED Vikram and the kid were incredible together, and it is so nice to look at a movie and not using a love story, no fight sequence, nothing typical, and yet, it worked so beautifully! Hats off to director Vijay for doing a gorgeous job. I also loved 'Hugo'. It's nothing like several of Scorsese's earlier films, but it's still an experience and an absolute visual treat.

Any other future projects? What are the songs you're currently crooning?

I like to let my work do the talking, in preference to talking about it!

Vikranth starts second innings

Vikranth earned more fans from cricket than from cinema, because the actor hogged all attention as a whole all-rounder, throughout the Celebrity Cricket League matches recently. And now, he's eyeing to make it big in films too.

The cousin of Vijay will soon start his second innings in Kollywood with a movie to be directed by his elder brother Sanjeev, who had earlier worked as an assistant to directors Sami and SS Rajamouli.

"It can be a whole action film. The shooting will start soon," says Vikranth, adding: "EXCEPT this project, I'VE also signed a film in Malayalam. It is going to be helmed by Kannan."

Vikranth made his acting debut in 2005 with 'Karka Kasadara', directed by RV Udhayakumar. He later played lead roles in 'Ninaithu Ninaithu Paarthen' and 'Nenjathai Killathey', among other films. The actor is married to Manasa, who's a well-liked television artist.

Vijay: Murugadoss is Kutti Mani Ratnam

Vijay has likened filmmaker AR Murugadoss, with whom he's working for 'Thupaki', to the country's ace director Mani Ratnam. "HE'S sharp and smart, yet so simple. I'D call him Kutti Mani Ratnam," says the Ilayathalapathy.

"I had acted in precisely an overly few commercial films which might be stylish besides. Thupaki is one such movie. All credits visit Murugadoss. He gives huge importance to even minute details," says the actor.

Hailing Kajal Aggarwal, his heroine within the movie, Vijay says, "Though she doesn't know Tamil, she took pains to grasp the dialogues and utter them with right emotions. A TROUBLESOME working actress she is."

"Thupaki might be a full-fledged treat to my fans. Personally it's a very powerful film for me because the role I'M doing in it's different from my earlier ones. I'M waiting for its release," adds Vijay.

Trisha targets Thailand

Its summer and Trisha is prepared for a holiday, as always. The actress has a small group of friends who're as hooked in to traveling as her.  This time, the 'Samaran' girl is eyeing Thailand. "But nothing is confirmed up to now. We're planning to spend our vacation at a resort in Thailand," she says.

Adding that things gets confirmed in a couple of days time, Trisha says she eagerly waits for the times she can be along with her close buddies. "Nothing on this planet could give me such a lot happiness," the chirpy woman says.

Story of Karunas Chandamama

Tamil cinema's leading comedian Karunas is currently playing the protagonist in two movies- 'Chandamama' and 'Ragalaipuram'. Shooting for the films, both comedy capers, are happening on a quick track.

'Chandamama' is being directed by Radhakrishnan, who has also penned the story, screenplay and dialogues. Lyrics are by Vairamuthu, while music is by Srikanth Deva. Ananda Kuttan is wielding the camera.

Shooting for the movie is currently on in Chennai and the crew will soon leave for an out of doors schedule. Swetha Basu is playing Karunas' heroine, with M S Baskar and Ilavarasu doing key roles.
